Edit: now with color spritesSo this is headcanon designs on what I think sans and gaster would look like before gaster was forgotten. the gaster in the purple shade is what happened to gaster when he studied the void too much.
Pre CORE era: Sans and Gaster run a casino to fund for the CORE
CORE building era: the best place to build was behind their casino
CORE era: Sans is happy for Gaster's achievement, but Gaster isn't
Pre nonexistance era: Gaster studies the power of the void, Sans gets worried
Nonexistance era: Gaster absorbed the void, causing anomalies to spit gaster out of existance.
Post nonexistance era (aka Undertale): sans's, and papyrus's, only punishment was to live in a universe much like their own, except they're trapped in a loop.
