Description Saw this girl painting at the lake in Yellowstone. I didn't really like how any of the shots came out but I decided to post one anyway because I'm still trying to get the hang of taking pictures of people so I need comments.

hmm.. i don't know how much i'm gonna help with my comment 'cause, i'm a beginner too, but anyway.. you could have included some of the scenery of what is she painting.. or zoom at her face and hands... to show how concetrated and dedicated she is.. the thing is, you have to say something with your photo.. as i sad, you could speak about her dedication to work, her motiv by including scenery in your composition and so.. also in this case, you could ask the girl if you can take a few photos while she is working. then you can relax and take a moment, think what do you wanna say with your photo, find the right angle, perspective, make a composition.. it's hard to do photos of a people, but also the results are sometimes fantastic.. good luck!

Thanks for the help. I was trying to take a picture that was kind of behind her so you could see what she was painting but there wasn't much room behind her. I think I would have fell into a hot spring if I tried getting a good angle.
