Description oh, you know
sometimes just standing somewhere lovely
you feel all the turmoil
ease
ease away.

it was a quiet autumn day on the Eastern Shore.

//
I've not taken many photographs these last few months; broken back and all. This is one of the few I've taken, I decided I'd prove I'm alive.

i know exactly what you mean by a single visual easing you somewhere nice. it's trance-inducing. this picture is no exception. the textures are precious: red leaves against cold dry wood, and the blur window shines a bit of beautiful mystery. niceness!

oh wow, how did you break your back? its a beautiful photo, the red is really beautiful richness to it, or i think so at least. Love the glass behind it.

I miss my occasional visits into the world of your photography nate... I know a lot of people who have a fantastic eye for light, and many who have a knack for finding a neat composition, but you have both. I would like to see more work from you when you get to feeling 100% and shooting more

I really like the rich colors and warmth. Its dark, which surprises me, and I wish the flowers? were a little more noticeable so they didn't distract you from the background...or maybe that's what you wanted to do...

Anyway, glad to hear you're feeling better!

This reminds me of the first time that I ate a pomegranate.
It's rare when a photo is almost as beautiful as actually seeing something in real life. But this gets pretty close.

Nathaniel,
Glad to see you're still with us! I need to contact you soon, I've been really busy between work and the art league, taking a night photography class and just dealing with every day stuff. I'm in Utica right now for the week, working. Lot's of snow here, but it's a change from the every day.

I had two pictures accepted into the January photo show at the Cap Hill Arts workshop, so that was cool. Had forgotton how much framing costs! OUCH!

Would be great if you could make it to the opening in January, but will talk with you later about it.

Meanwhile, keep up the great work! I miss seeing your art!

Geoff

Congrats on the acceptance. I think I'll be submitting stuff from afar once I get back to Charleston. Sounds like you're keeping yourself entertained; I've just been busy at work, and with schoolwork.

Like I've said in the past, if you ever need something printed just drop me a line (if you need my phone number drop me an e-mail). I'd be happy to print stuff for you, since I print all my own work I pay very little...though the overhead did set me back when I bought the largest printer everyone I knew had ever seen. I made some prints yesterday, they're going to be given to my professor in thanks of his doing this correspondence course, and being my professor for Italy, and his retirement next semester. I can't help you with framing though, it's damn expensive. My grandfather does it all himself, so if I want something done, it's a fun project for him. I should probably give him a few projects--just keep him occupied this winter.

I'd love to make it to your opening. I hope it's in early January. I'm headed back to Charleston in a few weeks. If not, I just might have to come up for the weekend. I'd love to meet you.

Hi again!
The opening reception is Tuesday the 10th from 7 - 9 pm and then again on Saturday the 14th from 5 - 7 pm. Let me know if you can make it over or if you need directions. It would be terrific to meet you in person.
I do have your phone number from a previous email and will try to call you soon.
I hope you have a great holiday!
Geoff

good to see you are still kicking!

Wow, was the light this dark when you took it or did you work with it a little? I like the contrast. Rather then white light with sharp black there is the deep red and black. the background of the glass was a great idea ^.^!!

beautful, again. I hope you get out and find some more beautiful photos, as you have a good nak for doing.

that is really too crisp to look like a photo when you first see it - too vivid. Very lovely ^^
