The comparason between the two started persisting as I watched the movie yesterday. I figured everyone else must of thought of it already.

Pretty funny, although this made me think of something, sorry to go off-tangent here.
Other then both main characters wear powered suits of armor each series has very little in common with one another.
That said, Ironman first appeared March 1963 while Metroid August 1986.
Is Tony trying on his grand-daughter's suit? (14 years is a long time in comic/video game terms)
