This concept was already floating around in my head when I did the two Sheriff Aura cosplays. Those weren't just to show off Aura at her best in that vavavoom outfit. It was also to test the viability of old V4 fantasy cowgirl outfits, if retextured with new materials. They worked beautifully. So ...

This scene is a teaser for an upcoming Valkyria mini-comic which will be the first of a series. The series? Once Upon a Time in Katie's Brain, in which Katie falls asleep watching a movie after eating some outlandish meal. She dreams something associated with the movie, sucking poor Steph and Jessie along for the ride. They hate it that Katie loves old movies, and the time she fell asleep while watching Roger Corman's Galaxy of Terror still haunts them (if you've seen that movie, you probably have a good idea what scene and why). The first episode will be "The Gunfight at the Not-too-Bad Corral," following her falling asleep while watching The Magnificent Seven. Plot points include: bad puns, boobs, more bad puns, skin, even more bad puns, NBP if I can fit it in, and more metafiction than is allowed by law. In other words, it's just sheer comedy and camp from first panel to last. I just have to come up with a story decent enough to fold all those plot points together. I said story not plot. This will also give me a chance to become more experienced with Comic Life 3 before committing it to the major comic.

There is a minor technical difficulty that may not be apparent to you, but my detail oriented eye zeroed right in on it. The fringes on Steph's gloves and chaps (oh, look, she's wearing gloves and chaps) are red. They're textured gold. But they are rendering red. Something's wrong with the object itself, I suppose. But I didn't want to spend any time hunting it down last night. I need to work on a commission today and fit Aura for some armor.
