Straight from the bay of Cigar Ashe Automotive comes this totally refurbished 1974 Volkswagen Thing. Engine and drive train by Jessica Ashe, body by Cigar Jones. While still air cooled and mostly original, Ms. Ashe confirms the rebuilt engine has 150 more horsepower than it did forty years ago. Jessica not included in sale price.

Okay, so thatβs a Kubelwagen. But the Thing was a Kubelwagen, just with a different engine and front end design. The original never looked this good, but maybe thatβs because Jessie is standing with it.

That reminds me of when I worked at Worldcom 20 years ago. One of the sales reps, Robert, wanted to be a Yuppie so bad that he bought a Mercedes. He called Darren, another rep, to brag.
