Description
I'm not very good at giving names to my artwork. I came up with the concept for the image and after I completed it I had the thought that he looked like he was some underworld guy. So I named the picture Hades but I wasn't trying to illustrate the Greek god of the underworld. So enjoy the picture for what it is.Pencil on bristol board.

this is a very interesting picture. the thing on the throne almost looks inviting, or safe, compared to the rest of its suroundings. at least thats what its like to me.

One of my favorite Greek gods. This actually is a very good drawing, and could represent both the god or something else. It could be symbolic of power, how it corrupts our very souls if had in excess. How it rots your mind and body until you are nothing but an empty shell of your former self.

Wow...you really acheived an errie feeling for your version of Hades. (Or he could also be interperated as Death.)
I really like the grainy look the shading gives off. Really makes the peice look old in a way. Like some of those black and white films.
And I just have to add...the long crooked fingernails are creepy...O_O

Stunning work; Very inspirational. Seeing Greek myself, I can honestly say you did Hades justice by keeping the atmosphere and theme intact, in addition to creating something original as well. Definitely not an easy feat, but you pulled it off.
