Description
This was an historic store in the community of The Pond, Nassau, Bahamas. It was owned and operated by the Butlers, a prominent Bahamian family. The patriarch of the family went on to become the first Bahamian Governor General of The Bahamas, Sir Milo Butler. Now deceased, he is recognized as a Bahamian national hero who fought for the rights of black Bahamians. The store was not in operation or occupied at the time of the fire.
