This is beautiful, I am jealous. The only things I can draw I can only do it once, any remakes have horrible markings and is not proportionate in area's. >_<

Right? I love it too especially with Sugar Cane, not the bleached sugar. Mmmm.. Β He was! Kept me interested in doing other Art stuff while getting 13 more extra credit classes.

No sugar for me, unless it's English Breakfast. But yes, demerara sugar is so much sweeter too. You need far less of it.
I'm guessing things work differently in the US than they do here. Art is considered very unimportant in secondary school, at least it was during my time. It might have changed, I don't know.

I see. It is, which is why I like Cane Sugar better than Bleached Sugar. Less sweeter, and in my opinion enhances the flavor of the tea. It does in a way, it's not required but for my school they had extra credit. I had 37.2 credits, an ordinary diploma there would be 48.2, the .2 was from two different types of tests. A math test and an English Test, but plus side once you pass the tests you don't have to retake them. In any case, I had all the required classes done, so I had to fill about 11 extra credits. Art, computer classes, Gym, TV productions, and other sorts of things.. I wouldn't be surprised school changes when you aren't in it.

What a pain in the ass. Any extra things we did at school were voluntary. Art was part of my curriculum, even. Other than that, you could pass your exams with one 4/10 and one 5/10 mark and all others 6+. A few of those extra things sound interesting though, like TV productions. It's been ten years since I graduated, so probably.

Yeah I know, any who failed had to keep on taking it. Only good part about it was that you got out of classes for the rest of the day for them. So silver lining I suppose? Oh I see! That's interesting though, what sort of Art Classes? Wow, wished I didn't live in America. xD I had 65% of the test portion for math and 60% for English. Didn't pass had to get above an 75%. It was! For TV productions class, we made new reports for grades, infomercial's, and How To Make things like what you would find on Youtube; Or something along those lines in any case. Also did sculpting, Jewelry class, and Drawing. At least those were the branches that we could sign up for to get that extra credit. OH AND I ALMOST FORGOT, Printing class. That was fun. We got to make Printed T-shirts, and printed Memo's. It's been.. 4 years for me.

That's a good silver lining if ever I heard one. Hahaha... Back then there was only one art class and it was all traditional. We referred to it as "drawing", even. So no sculpting or such like 3D media. No digital either. Just pencils, crayons and paint. My school was piss poor too, so if you wanted to paint on a canvas, you had to buy your own. I was the only one in my year to take Latin and we had three years crammed together in one room to cut costs. Only the youngest year got any attention, so I mostly goofed off. I wouldn't recommend this school. Nowadays the art class set-up has changed, but I'm not sure how. I'm guessing that they include digital now too though. It would make sense.
Wow, that all sounds like heaps of fun. And useful too.

Haha yeah! Oh wow, I'm sorry to hear. o.o I had the same thing our school was poor so Art and Music got cut back for guess what? Football. >-<; So Art teachers had to supply their own for their classes students had to buy their own matierals, and music had to find a way to fund their own programs. Oh ouch, my art room only had five tables with bar stools all around them. I really hate when they do that, the school I had went to beforehand. They were remodeling so everyone was all jammed packed into the Gym. The Gym is fairly large, but not large enough for student's different classes and everything. XD They even had all different classes cut off with like sheets, and students would throw shit over to the other classes.
Teachers still hate that 2 weeks of remodeling. If you asked the older teachers you can spend 20 minutes of them just ranting about it. xD I wouldn't blame you though for doing so. xD Yeah. Hm, I bet, probably some marketing art classes too..
It was! Although I forget how to do some of the shit, but I imagine if I got a refresher I could do it all again. lol

Natmonkey In reply to KeyofDementia [2014-03-29 13:08:51 +0000 UTC]
Music got thrown out altogether at some point. Thankfully, they didn't attach that much worth to sports either. Bah, that is just pathetic. How can you expect your students to be motivated like that? You'd think they might hold off on the remodelling job until the summer break or something. Was it really so urgent? It all sounds like a very special kind of hell.
It's like riding a bike, I guess. You'll never completely forget things you've learned.

Wow, that really sucks. ._. Oh I bet, thankfully indeed. Yeah I know, they really weren't. It was a huge playground for the students and after theΒ seventh day the teachers gave up on any real education. Seeing how the students were too busy throwing shit over to the next classes. A lot of the teachers said the same thing, and they still don't know why it had to be done during then. Honestly I don't know myself. It was, for the students of course not! But for the teachers they gave up on any real lesson plan and they put out movies to watch instead. Making it somewhat relevant to the class.
Yeah, true enough!

Oh, now that you mention archaeology, I may neatly segue into history. Have you ever seen Snowflower and the Secret Fan? If you haven't, I think it's a movie you'll love. It's about this eternal friendship between two girls in both ancient and modern China. It was very interesting and it made me cry a little.

DefinitionOfDestiny In reply to Natmonkey [2014-03-22 22:40:01 +0000 UTC]
Okay, now that the hysteria has passed, I'll give you a proper review
First of all, the sky. It look so awesome and realistic, but at the same time it looks like it came out of a painting. I looove it.
Second, the shading. Oh how I love it! It's beautifully done, it looks natural
Third, their skins. I don't think I told you, but Elissa is paler than Alistair, and you captured it Uhhh so happy!
I also love the caring looks they're giving to each other, while keeping their distance. Alistair, however, and being that doofy lovable guy he usually is on my fanfic (except the times were he goes bananas, but that's not the point), is reaching out to her hand. oooooh it melts my heart.
And you outdid yourself in the gemstone! It's not red, it's not green, it's awesome
Seriously, I wasn't expecting something this perfect, it's everything I've imagined. Not that you don't do awesome art, not at all, but sometimes it's hard to express what one's expecting through simple words.
Thank you once again!

I can't wait for the Ballad of Schmooples art. And the story. YAYAYAYAY.
But you make it look so guuud! It's really wonderful.
She's a special kind of redhead She glitters in the sun, just like Cullen. Edward Cullen, that is. I'm kidding, forget I said that. Good thinking, the Alistair skin tone. Nice touch! Hapiness, mostly hapiness. I mean, look at this thing! I'm super happyΒ Β
I had one of those too. I have no idea what happened to it, though. It was pretty.
You did it so fast. That's what I think, anyway. I'm glad you didn't find it boring haha, I would feel terrible. The boat looks awesome. And yes, best background evah!
I knew it all along. The Schmooples talk, the skin tone... You can't fool me, missy!

Natmonkey In reply to DefinitionOfDestiny [2014-03-23 23:04:05 +0000 UTC]
I'm not sure if I can get it out, but we'll see.
Haha, well, I'm glad someone thinks so.
Cullen Edwards also glitters in the sun, don't you know? Just ask Bella Amell. I always sample colours. Her eye colour is also sampled from one of the screenshots, as well as the colours of her tunic. It helps to keep stuff true.
It took me more than a week, didn't it? Sometimes I can crank something out in a single day. Those usually aren't this elaborate though.
Ugh, the boyfriend said that the background doesn't fit in at all. I think that's bullshit. I could have inked it and done it like the rest, but those clouds wouldn't look very fluffy at all. If I ever draw something like this for him, I'm so going to use the OneDrive logo as the background. That'll fit in nicely, grrr.
Or can I?

Oh, I guess I'll put the cleaver down then.
It is Sofa King funny! I love it, especially since it makes great fun of that Twilight "saga" thing.
That's the whole point. It's for you, so you've got to like it. Then again, I also have to like doing it. I once got this weird commission that was rather porny; got to work on it, the boyfriend said to move away, because he could do better and he took over. Thank goodness. My anatomy isn't good enough anyway. That settles it. OneDrive it is.
