 Neji's anger  was against the main family. And he saw Hinata in a way to vent  his anger during that battle. Good thing he changed his mind about her. Too bad he died. They would have made a great couple.

I tought he was a bastard the first time I seen him... and I didn't like his face XD

But when he told his story, I was sad for him.  Naruto beat him, and when I saw a tear on his cheek, I didn't tought he was a bastard anymore.
Then, at the begining and the end of his fight against Kidômaru, I said: "Neji Hyûga, you're just an awesome guy!"
Now, he's my favorite character. (No shit Sherlock XD)
