so I accidentally put Marinette's ring on the wrong hand and didn't notice until fixing it would be too much a hassle oOPS but shhhh just pretend it's flipped

Anyways, I guess I'll go ahead and take this opportunity to talk about Emma's name in light of Gorizilla. So for those of you who missed the updated description here , the kids have middle names. Hugo's is Thomas, after Marinette's father as well as Thomas Astruc, creator of the show. Louis's is Félix as a nod to a scrapped version of Chat Noir earlier in production.

Emma's was meant to be after Adrien's mother, and since she didn't have a canon name at the time I made her, I used one of the fanon ones--Adele--with the intention to change it once Adrien's mom got a canon name. But what I was not expecting was for that canon name--Emilie--to be so similar to "Emma" already! "Emma Emilie" sounded kinda redundant, so I didn't want to do that.

One possibility that I thought of, and that a lot of people seemed to like/support/suggest, was to make her first name Emilie and have Emma be a nickname. I gave it a lot of consideration, but one thing made me slightly hesitant, that being that I'm not sure if Emma is the most natural nickname for Emilie? I mean, my sister's name is Emily and we've never called her Emma, it was always Emmy or Em. That's not to say it couldn't happen, I'm sure it could, people have much less "natural" nicknames than that (for example, my little cousin Jonathan somehow gained the nickname Bug...not even his parents are entirely sure where it came from, I've asked)...but because of my personal experience with my sister, it just feels sliiiightly off, y'know? Hmmm.

However, it's also possible for her name to be just Emma and still be considered named after Emilie. Like how my sister's middle name is Christine after our grandma, Christina. Slightly different, but still in honor of her.

So I think for now that's what I'm going to go with. Her name is still just Emma, but now it's in honor of Emilie. Idk, maybe I'll change my mind later, but for now that's what I'll stick to.

...of course, that does raise the question of why, if not for Mrs. Agreste, they'd chose "Adele" as Emma's middle name...perhaps we could say it was Emilie's middle name as well? I mean, why not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
