Description First stab at this type of found text poetry. I'm used to finding whole sentences from different sources and recompiling them, but I've wanted to try this format for ages. It's a lot harder, because you're very limited on words and ordering. I found this hymn in my mum's drawer and I liked the words in it, so decided to try it out and use them ^^

you blind
I will set free

you hide
I name the fear inside

I adore the second last line, 'will you reshape my sight in you?' - wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! The subtle rhyming is also very nice. Beautifully done!

I was reading this and I was thinking, "What makes this unusual?" And then I realized: it rhymes. Most found poetry is, understandably, freeverse, so you've brought a structure to it. Interesting. Keep looking for unusual sources to create from; I've used IMing transcripts and travel ads for some of mine.

Now I've opened up to this kind of practice I'm looking at everything with potential of making something out of it. I even accepted a book from Jehovah's Witnesses with the intention of amending it

Very nice. I had a similar epiphany with photography and collaging; once you open your mind to it, you see opportunities everywhere.

Thank you! I have my Uni to thank for that, a lot of my stuff has been influenced by the kind of things we look at in lecture, and a lot of it's work for my actual degree xD
