I drew a male of a Bearded reedling which I often see in the reeds on the lake near which I live. This is an unique bird. To attract the female, male of a Bearded reedling is not the singing, but the demonstration of bright plumage and beard. They nest twice a year. The nest is a deep cup at the base of the reeds near the surface of the water. It is lined with reeds inside.Birds unite while still young in pairs that remain inseparable throughout their lives!!! It is extremely rare for small birds!
