And to you too!!  Getting close to fireworks time for you  I'm going to be on my deck with my big lens seeing if I can get any of the little towns shows that we can see miles and miles away... we've watched them before from the deck, but the 300mm just didn't get me close enough so we'll see what the 600mm does

 a bit of atmospheric interference cut the clarity but still pretty cool

Yup, at least now I know I'll have more of these little beauties flying around here this summer, and where to look for the "pillars" when they hatch out. I don't have a caterpillar from this butterfly in my gallery yet.

 Yeah I watched and followed this one for about 10 minutes before I got this shot. They only stay on the plant for a few seconds and then move off to another one. It deposited 2 - 3 eggs for each flower head. Most of the time it was facing me and you couldn't see what was going on. I wanted to show the egg laying and was very lucky to have an egg visible in the shot!
