Hi, Here's that same Buck about an hour later as it starts to cross the open section before heading into the swamp...it must have caught my scent , as it backed off into the brush, and never did see it again.
Β It was fun seeing it, and knowing I had picked the right spot to wait it out.... enjoy!

I won't find that big one...someone got it during Archery season on the farm next to my friends ...it was huge, field dressed at over 170lbs...12 points!

Wow, 170lbs and 12 points! Incredible! I'm sure whoever got it was thrilled.
As for myself, I'd rather "shoot" a buck with my camera and collect it's dropped sheds each year. I have a small bowl full of antlers from a spot I visit toward the end of December through March.
Maybe someday another will come along. I really enjoyed the pictures that you have of it in velvet. Wishing many more big bucks to come your way!

Oh yeah.. I'll bet it was on it's way to a taxidermist just hours after checking it in... that's like a lifetime buck for most hunters.
Β I know that a few younger Bucks are running around on this farm carrying his Genes..it's just they are too young yet to show how massive they will become...
Yup camera hunting is way more fun.. get to shoot them on a Saturday, and then again on Sunday and the following weekend also! I have yet to find a shed bigger than a 6 pointer, and it was only one side.
