Description Hi , I captured this shot of the elusive "Brown Creeper" today while out for a bit. This is one tough bird to photograph, not because of it's size, but because of it's feeding habits. This little bird will fly from tree to tree in a heart beat and basically you end up chasing it all over the woods and marsh trying to compose a decent shot before it flies off on you! They are also not that common of a bird. I usually only see 5 -6 of these each year, and I spend a lot of time out there shooting pictures. Enjoy this one!

Thank you Gary!
Ā I guess god things come to those who wait long enough! Only took me 5 years to get a great postable shot of these little guys.

Yes these guys are very difficult subjects to shoot.
They don't make it any easier when they don't take a straight path up the tree either, but climb them in an odd spiral.

I managed to get out for a little while the other day, and had roughly 4 of these go past me over the space of 2 hours (all too active to capture).
Had a few other feathered visitors pass by too- Chickadees, Juncos, Goldfinches, a Sap Sucker and a couple of different Warblers... Ā

only managed to get shots of a few of them though.

Wow 4 of them!! This one was the first one I saw this year!
Ā I have them here, but the population density must be really low. On average I only find 4 - 6 of them each season.

Yeah. I actually saw 2 of them at the same time, but they were on different trees.
I'm right on the migration route.
If I go to the forest at the very edge of the Escarpment around this time of the year, I can usually see a fairly wide variety summer birds returning.
One year I saw like a dozen different Warblers in a single afternoon.

Nice catch George. He's a cutie. Ā  My bird book says that they are native here year round, but I have never seen one. Something to keep a look out for.

I've also tried many many times to get a decent shot of these little ones...but it's proven too quick for me in the past. I'm glad to see at least you and Gary have been able to get stellar shots of these birds this year!

Thank you Synari!

Yeah I consider these birds "targets of opportunity"... ya never know when you'll see them, or if you'll get any decent shots of them.
