Hi, Boy did I have a great morning out in the marsh today!
Sit back and I'll tell you the story... I went out at day break to a couple of spots, but the activity was sparse. Only a few birds were seen. So I decided to go into the marsh and wait in one of my blinds. I was hoping a few migrant ducks would be there. Well as I'm watching the marsh I noticed some movement in the brush out there. To my surprise, it was an Otter ! I don't get to see them that often,so I shot some pics and then it went under and I lost sight of it. Well about 15 minutes later I spot some movement by an old dead stump out in the marsh. Wow it was the Otter,and it is using the stump as a den!! Yahoo I finally have found a den that is easy to get some col pictures of! well it stayed outside the den a few minutes and then went inside. I figured that was it, the Otter was going to sleep for the rest of the day, and the picture session was over.
So I stayed for awhile still looking for the ducks when out comes the Otter and it starts to fish right out in the open part of the marshes stream. I watched it catch a couple of fish and shot some pics of it eating them.. which I'm posting now.
It was a rare treat to watch this one in action, I feel very lucky to have seen this, but also find the den for future photo ops!
So now you know why I'm kinda pumped up...Enjoy the posted pics
