Description Hi, yesterday I was down at the upper field, and found these Wild Turkeys as they were moving across the cut section of the field heading towards the still uncut corn. enjoy!

Well if they want to get fat..better move into the standing corn..Charlie just roto tilled this part of the field last Thursday.. pretty slim pickings now for them.

Just out of curiosity, how many months out of the year, and which, is corn grown and able to be harvested in MA? Thanks

Hi,

it's around the end of July through August , Sept and the first week of October that we can have fresh native corn. After this, the stuff is either dried for feed or for grinding corn meal. this part of the field is left to dry for Autumn house decorations and Halloween decorations..

He also leaves some rows standing for the migrating birds and for the animals to use during the tough winter months. That's why these rows are still standing. hope this answers your question.

Thanks for the response. Yes it does. It's a short yield time, at least, shorter than i had thought before.
