Description Hi, I saw this one today while out this morning.
 It's a "Red-spotted Purple"butterfly,male.

I'm not seeing the "red spot!"  But he's a handsome fellow to be sure.

One of my all-time favourite natives is the 'dark-phase' tiger swallowtail, I thought this was.

Hi, Yeah I know, the red spot is on the underside of the wing. when it's folded up you can see why it's named as such.

Yeah this one was neat finding....it was sucking up dew from the pile of wood chips.
What did you think about that arrowhead part I found?...wish I could find a complete one someday.
