Description Got this lovely thing with a HUGE lot of tails from a family-owned tannery. I've only worked with wild fox tail up till now, so I'm not great with mutation colors. All I know is that I've never seen a tail like this before - it's like an arctic fox, except that it has a pastel brown swirl from the dorsal stripe.

Ideas?

This will also be listed on Etsy later today, along with a few others.

How much would you charge for a skunk tail and a possum tail with the clip included?

Possum tails aren't really suitable for use as keychains. Skunk tails are $20.00.

Got an etsy indeed. Link is in my signature. Will need to order a couple tails in so it could be a week or so before they are listed.

Yeah I found it earlier, and a weeks fine. How much would you charge for the skin of the whole body with the tail attached, and possibly the skull?

A whole skunk pelt would be like $60.00 for a nice one. A skull would be $45.00.

I'll probably just buy the tail honestly, BUT I have one more question! How much would the bottom half of the pelt with the tail attached cost me?

Same as it would as a full pelt.

I have one I just got from *lupagreenwolf that has similar coloration to this, but a touch more vibrant ([link] ). Someone suggested that it might be a Crystal Fox (hybrid), and some of my own searching turned up tails that looked similar to it, and even closer to this one, called Golden Island. Mine's quite a bit darker though, whereas most of what I've found trends pastel like this. Seems to be a captive bred Red/Blue hybrid, or a Red/Arctic hybrid... internet's kinda sketchy. But the coloration doesn't appear to crop up often from what I can tell. There's almost no pictures of a full fox in this morph.

Lovely find here :3

The tail in that link is a crystal fox tail. The term crystal fox does not refer to a species, but rather a coloration which is the result of dye treatment. So it's not natural, but still, very pretty! It's also not Golden Island (I've had many, many golden island fox tails - they're my favorite!). Pretty certain, based on advice from others here, that it's an Arctic sunrise fox tail.

I saw some of the sunrises while doing my own search. They are beautiful! And thanks for the confirmation on mine being a crystal fox. I hadn't had much luck tracking down other examples for comparison.

I was supposed to sign off an hour ago but I've been wandering around your gallery... time well spent, though XD

Most likely a marble, the spiral comes from the tanner twisting the tail

I'm fairly sure this tail is of an Arctic Sunrise Fox. It has the correct colors (Although I've never seen that kind of spiral before) and is very beautyful.

I have one that's similar. I am actually looking for a large tail just like this one so that I can ''retire'' mine. The tip of the tail broke off and when I went to sew it back together, the tip broke in 2 ...... *epic saddness* So now it's sewn together, but I'd rather not take it anywhere, but instead just hang it on the wall. How much would this tail be swelling for? How long is it?

i just listed this one at $50.00 due to the unique color and quality of the fur.
