Yay! This is the most intense photo manip I have ever done, and I hope it looks good.clouds and tree background: [link]
moon and butterfly brush: *Shadow-Brushes
all done in PS CS
took me about an hour to do because this is an assignment for my photoshop class. I had to have at least three layers, one with a different blending mode and one with a different opacity level. I had to use two brushes already in the photoshop library and one brush (at least) from somewhere else. He didn't say that we couldn't use someone else's brush so I used *Shadow-Brushes 's. Thanks sweetie!
I didn't know what I wanted to do, and I thought I was going to put a girl in there somewhere, but it didn't work because she was really annoyingly hard to get to look like she fit in the picture.
There are about 5-6 layers in this picture.

Edit: Added a border. I thought about making the moon smaller, but I like it like that...
Edit II: Changed the butterflies to more realistic ones. *purrs*

Looks nice, but I noticed that some of the butterflies wings are actually behind the moon. Makes it look a lot more fake than if you had fixed it. Other than that I think it is a good piece

Great concept, some things to look at though (from a critique standpoint):
Butterfly nearest the bottom of the moon, you can see it behind the moon as well (just erase one of it's little wings and it's all good).
Lighting of the background seems sort of washed out rather then darkened (since the moon is up I will assume that it's meant to be a night picture).
I like the border but IMO it would be better plain (remove the bevel/emboss or whatever it was that you used on it) so that it doesn't draw the eye away from the image.
Now, all that being said. It's a great image and it looks like you put some effort into making it work the way you envisioned it. Keep it up.

the circles on top is because I used a lens flare, and that effect is what you would get no matter what, so...nothing I can really do about it...

oh! you know what was so cool the other day?!?!?! well you don't, but I am going to tell you.
I was walking somewhere at like 6AM a few months ago when the sun was rising and I saw a rainbow around the sun. The sky was almost clear, and the rainbow wasn't divided up into all its colors, but it looked like a gold rainbow and it was so pretty!
I don't know why I didn't tell you that earlier...
