Finished coloring of a sci-fi nightclub/ bar scene.
Although people are having a good time, it´s oppressive and sultry inside and I tried to mimic that mood...
AFra clone girl Lysbeth Graph(*), CHZ-038, worker of the Orbital Laboratory ZIL-774, is having an after work fun night with a friend who´s dancing topless a way back.
This male Afra shows interest, but apparently not in her.
He tries to use Lys to get a (free) drink and a date with her friend. To have a free reign with said friend he orders her to go to the bar and get more drinks.
Simply said, the guy is a cheap shit and a jerk.
Waiting 30 minutes to buy yourself a drink is by no means a punishment... I hope her friend is already drunk enough to save her from his bullshit approach.
We Dutch have a saying that most girls on a night out, confronted with THIS kind of guys, will recognize with ease:
"The wind must be coming from the West, the jellyfish are washing ashore."

Fun coloring, that took WAY longer than I had expected. Probably because I wanted it to be a more realistic one.
Leather jacket, lots of soft shading and soft touched highlights, bright colors, nice hair. One big colorists playground...
Naughty gave his muses such a thorough tickling this time that it paid off.

They´re Afra clones... Azimuth Pharmaceuticals sells them by the thousands. So yeah, they may look familiar.

Oooh, this so reminds of the coloring in good old comics from like the 80's and/or 90's. My muse had to fight off a horde of nostalgia goblins because of this. :3

Heheh, those nostalgia goblins can be so perseverant. But they always wanna take you for a trip down through memory lane. Maybe your muse didn´t get that...
I think we must´ve had the same kind of comics...
I try to do my best to pick some nice pieces, but the inspiration really boosted when I was working on this one.
I was aiming for a nice mood, but without the use of red. A nightclub in red turns cheap quickly because a comparison with a brothel comes near.
That´s why I choose a more classy lavender/ mauve combination as it works so well with the fluorescent colors and the black.

It was challenging to catch the mood with warm colors and leaving your original drawing intact, but it seems like I nailed it.
I´m slowly trying to get into a higher gear... I love to learn, to explore and challenge myself!
