I have a part of my story that I'm turning into an "illuminated text" about a horse. The creator deity, Akaan, sung everything into being, and the first animals were "totems", and horse was one of these. Horse, who in Ranqa is called Pekaan, was free and beautiful but also kind of heart, and so when he saw the other Totems, the hunter types trying to hunt and eat the first humanoid, Mabaan/Ancient, he sacrificed his freedom and wildness to Mabaan to allow him onto his back so they could ride off to freedom away from the hunter totems. And so, it's the myth of Horse, and why humans must never forget that all those creatures (the horse being their ancestor) that sacrifice themselves for the good of humanity should have the greatest respect from the humans above other creatures. So Horse Totem in my story, is beauty, grace, freedom, but also self sacrifice, nobility and compassion.

I'd love to use the lines of this picture to do put into my "illuminated text" project, if you don't mind?

That's such an awesome sort of legend! I like it! =]

And of course, feel free to use it in any way you like. I would be flattered.
