Because Shogakukan just doesn't care anymore.I had wanted this to be a more Ren & Stimpy-style drawing, but I suppose I like how it turned out.

Now--- they should have made the Pikachu plushes look like that. :3
The eyes are bulgy and yet empty- which is good, for pikachu lacks a soul.
The squared teeth and the lines around the eyes(making them look wider) also work for a nice effect. Beautifully cartooned~<3
