What really stands out to me is the contrast between the tones and the hues. The very staid, gray background seems mute and boring in comparison to the garishly bright reds and greens surrounding the Hatteresque model. It's almost a statement; like, "This world is less interesting without ME."
There's something about the teacups. They remind me of the 1 UP Mushrooms from Mario and they almost seem out of place... maybe it's just me, though.

It's awesome! The idea is very original, the design and the mood are very good. I love how the red tones stick out from all the black and white colors in the work. I'm just afraid it could be pulled of because rules state that the author of the work must be depicted in the work ("Entrant must follow the instructions on the Contest Site and submit the completed entry of a piece of artwork **depicting his or herself as one of the characters from** "Alice In Wonderland""). If I were you I'd submit a 'backup' copy of myself posing instead of that model. Just in case, cause it would be shame if this gets pulled off. So my friendly advice is to 'replace' the model with yourself. You can't see his face anyway not a big deal, and photoshop is there to fix stuff anyway.

Loving the colour and effects used here, if only model could have turned his head toward the camera slightly and maybe more work on bluring cups/hat etc to appear more natural
