That really bothered me that I didn't know until they revealed it in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal!
I just finished season 3 of Sailor Moon Crystal so whenever they show Uranus in the show I was so confused at first, since I didn't get the chance to watch the original as a kid! ( And I don't have the patience either!) Overall I am glad they made a gender fluid Sailor Scout! c':

Really, it wasn't that clear in crystal (I never watched crystal, so I don't know)? Hmm, in the German version they instantly made her a girl

Well, it took me awhile because I thought Hakura has a twin for some odd reason!But since I never watched the original series sadly, it took me longer than usual! But I'm glad they made Uranus both genders like from what I've seen in the mangas, but appearently whenever the show released in the US they did reveal Uranus was both genders but Usagi didn't handle it as well as she did in the Crystal revamp! C":
