Very nice. But how did the horse get there, since there are no footsteps in the snow?
Besides, how did you cut out the horse from the original picture? I always have problems with fine structures like mane and tail, so any enlightenment is welcome.

My mom pointed out the lack of hoofprints after I had it uploaded it. I changed the version I have saved to my computer but haven't changed this one. lol
As for cutting out manes and tales and such, I normally use the eraser in Gimp to cut out the parts of the tale I don't want, then smudge out the ends so it doesn't look too terribly cut out, then I paint the rest over using colors I picked out from the original hair.
I'm still working on the structure and how it flows so I know I'm not the best example, but you can compare the changes I made with this image to the link to the original. Hope this helped and thanks for the comment!
