What's fun about this is that ALL IT IS is a simple gradient map. I picked the colors for it, yes, but it's just a photo manip otherwise. xDIT'S ME, BETCH.
My concentration for AP art this year is Smoke and Fire, so any ideas for artwork would be greatly appreciated!

Even for a gradient map, it's still pretty impressive to look at. And the way the smoke looks like fire at the same time is amazing. To be honest, I thought it was Katy when I first saw it. It's probably the glasses.
As for any ideas, I've got none. The only thing I can think of would be getting a picture of a flame and manipulating it to look like it's sort of vanishing and has the texture of smoke or something, I dunno. Maybe you could get a piece of parchment paper and make a drawing of smoke or something on it and burn the edges of the paper to make it look scorched or something. Or at least use the scorched paper in the piece at the very least. Or a cigarette burn in fabric or something.
