Description Assalaamu alaikum [peace be to you],

Today people think that women are liberated in the West and that the women's liberation movement began in the 20th century. Actually, the women's liberation movement was not begun by women but was revealed by the God almighty to a man in the 7th century by the name of Mohammed -peace be upon him-, who is known as the last Prophet of Islam. The Qur'an and the Traditions of the Prophet (Hadith or Sunnah) are the sources from which every Muslim woman derives her rights and duties.

I. HUMAN RIGHTS
With its last restoration, 14 centuries ago, Islam made women equally accountable to God in glorifying and worshipping Him - setting no limits on her moral progress. Also, Islam established a woman's equality in her humanity with men. Since men and women both came from the same essence, they are equal in their humanity. Women cannot be by nature evil (as some religions teach) or then men would be evil also. Similarly, neither gender can be superior because it would be a contradiction of equality.

II. CIVIL RIGHTS
In Islam, a woman has the basic freedom of choice and expression based on recognition of her individual personality. First, she is free to choose her religion.
Second, she is encouraged in Islam to contribute her opinions and ideas. There are many traditions of the Prophet -peace be upon him- which indicate women would pose questions directly to him and offer their opinions concerning religion, economics and social matters.
A Muslim woman chooses her husband and keeps her maiden name after marriage. A Muslim woman's testimony is valid in legal disputes. In fact, in areas in which women are more familiar, their evidence is conclusive.

III. SOCIAL RIGHTS
The Prophet -peace be upon him- once said: "Seeking knowledge is a mandate for every Muslim (male and female)." This includes all kinds of knowledge. Men and women both have the capacity for learning and understanding. Since it is also their religious obligation to promote good behavior and condemn bad behavior in all spheres of life, Muslim women must acquire the appropriate education to perform this duty in accordance with their own natural talents and interests.
While maintenance of a home, providing support to her husband, and bearing, raising and teaching of children are among the first and very highly regarded roles for a woman, if she has the skills to work outside the home for the good of the community, she may do so as long as her family obligations are met.
Islam recognizes and fosters the natural differences between men and women despite their equality. Some types of work are more suitable for men and other types for women. This in no way diminishes either's effort nor its benefit. God will reward both sexes equally for the value of their work, though it may not necessarily be the same activity.
Concerning motherhood, the Prophet -peace be upon him- said: "Heaven lies under the feet of mothers." This implies that the success of a society can be traced to the mothers that raised it. The first and greatest influence on a person comes from the sense of security, affection, and training received from the mother. Therefore, a woman having children must be educated and conscientious in order to be a skillful parent.

IV. POLITICAL RIGHTS
A right given to Muslim women by God 1400 years ago is the right to vote. On any public matter, a woman may voice her opinion and participate in politics. Muslim women have the right to select their leader and publicly declare so. Finally, Islam does not forbid a woman from holding important positions in government.

V. ECONOMIC RIGHTS
In the Qur'an, the God declared that He created men and women to be different, with unique roles, functions and skills. As in society, where there is a division of labor, so too in a family; each member has different responsibilities. Generally, Islam upholds that women are entrusted with the nurturing role, and men, with the guardian role. Therefore, women are given the right of financial support.
This guardianship and greater financial responsibility given to men, requires that they provide women with not only monetary support but also physical protection and kind and respectful treatment.
The Muslim woman has the privilege to earn money, the right to own property, to enter into legal contracts and to manage all of her assets in any way she pleases. She can run her own business and no one has any claim on her earnings including her husband. The Muslim woman may also inherit from her relatives.

The Muslim woman was given a role, duties and rights 1400 years ago that most women do not enjoy today, even in the West. These are from God and are designed to keep balance in society; what may seem unjust or missing in one place is compensated for or explained in another place. After all, Islam is a complete way of life.

to be continued in part 2:

I hope this was beneficial.

If I am right, it's from the God almighty. If I am wrong, it's from myself.

I wanna start by saying that those rights you speak of are not practiced in reality far from it actually, and the one who "are" are horribly distorted.
domestic violence is not a crime and many countries require 4 witnesses for rape otherwise the girl is charged for adultery and in many more a guy can get away with rape if he marries his victim.

Now for the laws that are islamic and ARE correct: in almost all (islamic) countries (except Tunisia maybe) a women's testimony is half of a man's.
Imagine the situation where a girl witnesses a robbery or a murder then her testimony is flushed down the drains and your precious criminal gets away with his crime horrible as it may be? alsoย Divorced is made extremely difficult for women but nothing is easier for a man.

Is it really worth it if everyone's going to "distort" islam? hell what's the value of a "theory" that is never applied? I find this similar to the concept of Utopian society. Unreachable, and it costs too much to try.

anyway i hope you reply but this is only scratching the surface as i don't have enough time to elaborate more.

Peace be to you, also.

You've made a highly informative and interesting series here!ย  I haven't read it all yet, but I'm glad people are working to inform others about the positive aspects of people that much of my country's media (I'm American) demonizes.

Your artwork is adorable, and it's what drew me in to reading what you have to say.

I'm (pleasantly) surprised that your piece hasn't drawn masses of hateful responses, but DeviantArt folks tend to be nicer than those at other sites, like YouTube.

English Translation:
Rifa`a divorced his wife whereupon `AbdurRahman bin Az-Zubair Al-Qurazi married her. `Aisha said that the lady (came), wearing a green veil (and complained to her (Aisha) of her husband and showed her a green spot on her skin caused by beating). It was the habit of ladies to support each other, so when Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) came, `Aisha said, "I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women. Look! Her skin is greener than her clothes!" When `AbdurRahman heard that his wife had gone to the Prophet, he came with his two sons from another wife. She said, "By Allah! I have done no wrong to him but he is impotent and is as useless to me as this," holding and showing the fringe of her garment, `Abdur-Rahman said, "By Allah, O Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ)! She has told a lie! I am very strong and can satisfy her but she is disobedient and wants to go back to Rifa`a." Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) said, to her, "If that is your intention, then know that it is unlawful for you to remarry Rifa`a unless `Abdur-Rahman has had sexual intercourse with you." Then the Prophet (๏ทบ) saw two boys with `Abdur- Rahman and asked (him), "Are these your sons?" On that `AbdurRahman said, "Yes." The Prophet (๏ทบ) said, "You claim what you claim (i.e.. that he is impotent)? But by Allah, these boys resemble him as a crow resembles a crow,"

"p.s in your Holy Book, it was written that men can beating women. Why don't you paint a woman beated by his "lovely husband"? a woman with bruises, wounds and so on?"
WRONG! my holy book doesn't say that men can beat women. don't try to say filth and claim it's the word of God almighty.
the Qur'an says: "โ€ฆAnd live with them (your wives) in kindnessโ€ฆ" and
besides, the prophet Mohammed -peace and blessings be upon him- said: "The best among you is the one who is the best towards his wife"
Women are degraded in all societies. there is no religion that raised women so high until paradise became under their feet. the prophet Mohammed -peace be upon him- said "paradise lies under the feet of the mothers"
so don't come to my page to propagate obvious lies.

Sura IV "the sura of the women" ( Sรปrah an-Nisรข' ) speaks about beating wives if they don't obey.
I can write in arabic language if you prefere this...

Sura IV "Women" 34 says: "Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.

I have read the Qu'ran. women can be stoned. and homosexual people are condemned too.
you should draw something about this... stoned woman. true sharia.
beated women. true sura IV...

The only RELIGION that makes FREE the women is WICCA (the cult of the GODDESS)
not your master god Allah. or the christ male god, for christian people.
the only religion for women is WICCA. the cult of the Goddess.
The Triple Goddess, as the Moon. or the ancient Goddesses.
Wicca is freedom, for women! Not the patriarchal religions created by misoginous men and prophets males...
I am proud of being a Witch. I adore Goddesses. Not trascendental male gods (islam, christianity, judaism...) and I am not a mother. woman is more than a simple mother. the mother is a submissive woman under the law of the husband.
I am proud of being an High Priestess.
I am proud of fighting against the misoginous religions.

you can call your god with all masculine grammar names and forms, feeling higher than women... in fact in Qu'ran is written than the women are lower, and the men are higher "of one step".
your prophet said that women are less in intellect and brain.
I am not stupid, I am not lower.

Now you can censor my message, but I know Sura IV, I'm not like your followers.

this is true ! because now days , everyone thinks that liberating women is in jeans and all those ... tight things .
but that's not right . by wearing those clothes , it will make her a slave of men .
, because they can see every curve in her and they may assault her . and they enjoy it .
that's why Islam . made the thing called Hiijab with this one .
the women won't be seen by other men which make her safer also mainly won't be assaulted by men .
I even were one of those girls who love to wear beautiful clothes and fashion and all . ... ,
i even didn't like hiijab , but thanks to god i'm convinced and happy with it .
In fact the issue of liberating women came from Masonic ( a.k.a Illuminate ) who wanted to spare the corruption among all the religions . to know more about them , please watch the Arrival series on youtube it'll help
plus maybe i'm only a 14 years old kid , but we must be aware of what are we in now days .
( sorry for grammar and such , English is my 3rd language )

I'm sorry, but I only know c++(which is probably not right for a game program) and am l learning Java and Game Salad, but I can start trying that as well. I take programming at school, so I will ask my teacher for a bit of advice, inshallah. I can learn things quick, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Did you submit this deviation because of the international women's day? If so, then you have a good timing.

Your article here is interesting. But I feel that it lacks some references. Here is an example: "In the Qur'an, the God declared that He created men and women to be different, with unique roles, functions and skills." I would like to know which verse confirms your statement here. It is an example among others. But still, this article is a nice work, I can't deny it.

Concerning your deviation, I didn't expect that kind of drawing. I like the childish atmosphere coming from the way you coloured your drawing.

I didn't include the Qur'anic references because they would make the article longer. and I wanted to make it as short as possible for the reader. I think this article could be considered as a pointer for the reader to search and expand their understanding of the subject.

I may make more articles in the subject and include Qur'anic verses with them in the future -in sha'Allah-.

Subhanallah!
Though I don't think we've managed flying yet, this picture is amazing in both concept and execution... The expression on the bird's face is priceless... Plus... Who doesn't like chibis? :3
