Description Going into the double-digit count, I did another Animal Crossing themed drawing for prompt no.10, this time of the Able Sisters' shop! The Able Sisters actually happen to have a somewhat tragic backstory, including Labelle in the mix, which is simultaneously amazing and sad for a game that many deem one the most child-friendly games out there.
I didn't colour it because there's just so many details that I didn't get the chance to, but the lineart... I feel really good about.

I can see why you’re feeling good about the linework: the area, characters, and objects in the environment are all so well drawn here!

Thank you so much!! <3
Plenty more to come too, it can get tough sometimes with the time restraints though.

The able sisters! I love them so much, they have a surprisingly sad backstory actually (Especially for a kids game). I love how accurate you've made the shop's layout with the pictures, clothes and till <3 I really like how you've used the more original style for the villager (I love the art style of the more recent games but it's nice to see the older style acknowledged!) This is just such an adorable piece! <3 What elements do you enjoy in animal crossing btw? ^^

Same!! They do but it's a nice detail that they feel like three dimensional characters because they have depth to them, they're not just NPCs in a shop.
And thank you! I've had a blast doing this one! And yeah, I think the older style of the villager is super cute, I love how short and chubby they can look haha. Thanks again! <3
Elements? Hmm, well for one I think the furniture and customisation features are really awesome, you can add your own touch to your playthrough in such a huge way..! I'm a huge hoarder so I hate selling furniture and one of my goals is collecting all of the musical instruments in the game lol. I really like hunting and collecting all the different bugs and fish as well, they can get pretty intense when you see like, a shark in the water or a scorpion at night! What about you? And which AC games have you played or is your fav?

The personal touches and hidden depth in the characters in the game is a really nice thing Nintendo did for the games and it just makes the town you live in feel way more immersive.
The customisation and interior design in the games is really impressive with how much you can make your home your own. I love how you can actually play the instruments in yours and the villagers houses (They always clap at me butchering my own town tune lmao). I love collecting the creatures for my museum (I don't know if you sell or donate your findings, I do both usually lol), when do you actually see scorpions in AC since I don't really set the time to night time usually (I think that's the time of day but I'm not sure on season haha). I've played every main AC game in the series except the original and amibo festival since I don't have the consoles they came out on and I don't think it's worth investing now due to university in a year. I played wild work and city folk all the time when I was younger, then when I got a 3DS I played new leaf. Nintendo (Especially AC) has been really good at relieving stress and worries for me over the last 4 years due to how calm the games are and how easy it is to get into the games. I don't have a lot of time to play games anymore since I have to balance loads of other stuff so I really appreciate the laid back tone in AC, my favourite game in the series so far is new leaf due to how good the customisation is along with the mayor mechanics they introduced as it gave you more control and involvement in how your town feels. I am super excited for new horizons though! (I've already arranged for one of my best friends who loves animal crossing to come round March 20th to play the game with me when it's all set up lol). Sorry I went on there, it's just AC means so much to me xD What game is your favourite in the series?

Yeah! I think that's one of the reasons why AC is such a valued series in the Nintendo lineup of games, it has below surface level depth and charm that you don't really feel unless you play it for yourself. It's also like Super Smash Bros. in the way that whenever there's a new release in the series, it a) is a pretty big deal in Nintendo Directs and just the fanbase in general and b) feels almost like a myth with how many years in between it takes for a new game to be released in the series! haha

Hell yeah, I love the instruments so much! I agree with you 100% and I do the same for the museum actually lol, I'll donate first-findings of each species and then sell off any more of them afterwards or keep them as pets for my house. You can find scorpions from as early as evening, like 7pm, to as late as 4am in the morning but I tend to run into them after it gets dark. I think it's the same with tarantulas too. Haven't caught either yet in any game but I've gotten close lol. Just be ready to time your swing if you see a scorpion/tarantula since if it bites you, you'll pass out and end up in front of your house.
Ah, then we're on the same terms. I really want to play the Gamecube one at SOME point in my life because it looks fun and more gritty(?) than the newer AC games. Sadly the PAL versions are SO expensive and hard to get.
There's also Happy Home Designer that I haven't played but tbh it doesn't really interest me. Oh don't worry, you're not missing anything with Amiibo Festival, it's supposedly..well, garbage from what I heard lol.

I played City Folk (Which, for some reason is called Let's Go To the City in Europe but that's a mouthful) at a friend's house years and years ago, that was my first exposure to AC and then I got my hands on Wild World whiiiiiich I proceeded to lose the cartridge and ruin my friendship over it with the same guy that introduced me to AC lol and then I got New Leaf after saving up my money for it for ages. I played for like a year or two before life started to get in the way and I dropped it. But recently, I bought my own copy of City Folk and I'm experiencing it all over again, it's such a joy of a game. Plus it's an old game and the graphics and screen fuzz are so nostalgic for me personally, brings me back to a simpler time.

Yeah! I can agree with you there, there is something special about Nintendo games. You know they're high quality and fun games to play and there is something for everyone in their game series catalogs.
Ah I getcha. Yeah, as much as I haven't played it in a long time, it's the best AC game out there and it's SUCH a step above City Folk when it comes to customisations especially. I loved the mayor mechanics a lot too, the fact that they let you build stuff like benches and lampposts and loads of other stuff made it feel like a more homely town hehe. The one thing I was kinda disappointed by is the fact that you can't decide who moves into a town and WHERE. I've had more than a few instances where I had a spot with flowers and trees that I worked hard to maintain every day and some villager moved in and ruined it (I'm looking at you, Paula). But other than that, fantastic game. I also loved that you can invite friends and play together in one another's towns. (I know that was on the Wii too but since I never got to experience the Wii network at its prime, experiencing AC online in a more modern entry is the only way to have fun with it now).

Ahh same here! I'm really liking how it's shaping up so far, I watched some footage of it in the E3 this year as well as Nintendo's directs but I hope they keep all the good stuff under wraps! I planned to buy it around the time it comes out but now that Doom Eternal has been delayed to March too (it was supposed to release this November) I'll have to wait to save up for it much later ig. ;-; rip
It's okay haha, I don't mind at all (and I mean..I wrote a lot too hehe) and AC is a game you could talk about for days on end really. Hmm..I think I'd have to go with City Folk. It was my introduction to AC, it's a bit old and it shows but as I said earlier, it brings me back to a simpler time in my life. It's a game I like to pop in and play on days where I feel kinda down in the dumps too. There is something therapeutic about these games, that's for sure.
