An elder of perhaps the last Were-diprotodon community in the world (in-universe known simply as the Goliath Wombat) presents an Archeology student (Myles Roddenberry) and an Art History student (Katie Zhao), a traditional hunting boomerang otherwise known as a karli.

The massive boomerangs were used primarily to hunt large kangaroos, including dire ones, while also being big enough to be used as a war club.

Were-Diprotodons used to be much more common, a nomadic group of peoples that followed where game was, and where food was available. However, for reasons still unknown, they suffered a MASSIVE population decline, even before contact with foreigners. Their number is now estimated to be less than a hundred individuals.

For now, Mandawuy is simply glad that he can educate others on the importance of this small piece of his tribe’s culture.
