Wow, my first impression was poachers as the lions don't look alarmed like hungry or starved.

All I can say is what our safari guide told us, and that is that these lions killed the juvenile elephant earlier that night.
Not a pretty sight, maybe, but that's how these cats make their living.

Well, they need to eat too. That poor elephant probably would have died a slow lonely death anyways.
