The patriarch of a lowland gorilla (Gorilla gorilla) family.And yes, this photo doesn't adhere to the rule of thirds...but he's so big, he deserves to be in the center!

Thanks a lot Bill. I took this shot after he made a round through their enclosure seemingly wanting to look whether everything was alright (but he didn't come in close contact with any of his other "inmates"), and then he sat down to relax. Bingo.
