That my friend, is what I call a warrior bird ! He looks so alone and so courageous at the same time, it's stunning. I particulary love the blurred trees' effect (well, I guess it's trees) and the natural bokeh of the snow. Birds are so nobles sometimes it's funny but this one works really well with the atmosphere. I'm fond of photos that tell a story...

The background was a bush. It was pretty tricky getting the background right because I wanted to capture the snow. The hard part with heavy snow is that everything in the background is usually white. It took some testshots to get to a point I was happy with.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to capture snow landscape. But that only makes the result more impressive.

How pretty!
The little bird is well captured and the background makes it stand out as the focus. I like how some of the snowflakes are in focus while some are not - it gives it a real feel - as though it's 3D.
I like the shadows in the background because it makes it more interested.

The background is blurry, but in this case that's great, because this way the bird is in the focus.
