Kaze no Tani no Naushika (風の谷のナウシカ) translated "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" is Hayao Miyazaki's earliest fantasy adventure film which later being considered a part of Studio Ghibli collection even this film was distributed by Toei company. Nausicaa was first made into manga in 1982 by Miyazaki. The film was release in 1984 and based on few chapters of the manga. Tis film so far was considered one of Studio Ghibli's best creative feature.I read through some parts of Miyazaki's manga and found the story was very interesting and full of imagination. "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" without doubt has lived up with Studio Ghibli's legends.

How many live-action movies based on cartoons there are, cause I can tell ya that number is pretty slim, and I'm counting films from both sides of the world, America and Japan

But if I have to say anything, animated movies based on cartoons are better, and I can think of plenty of those, Spongebob Squarepants (guy had two, botb are Hilarious), Rugrats, Powerpuff Girls, My Little Pony (includes the original theatrical film of G1 and the G4 Equestria Girls movies), Astro Boy, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, I can do this all day
