Heres a more technical look at Number 074. When i made it, i didnt have any fixed plans, i just went "if i put dis 'ere, and dat dere.." and ended up with this. Although some maths had to go into it, such as angles and the likes. Im rather happy with how it turned out in the end, it was quite a gamble cutting up two models to make one.Related content

You can! If you have a spare chimera, leman russ, predator sponsons, razorback turret, tau targeting equipment, plasticard, lots of free time...

The only thing that would make it look better is a Vanquisher turret, Other than that... It's a perfect MBT... I Love the design!

Honestly, i think the Vanquisher cannon is stupidly long. It just makes the tank way too top-heavy on the original Leman Russ model.. who knows, might look good on one thats a bit lower profile..

There's a tracked version that would look a lot like the 074 XD.
(Now, I'm not a military geek wannabe, it's just that I saw them on the Independence parade this year)

It does a bit.. Honestly, i drew inspiration from the British Challenger 2 tank and the American Abrams.
I was just about to finish this tank, then Forge World came out with the Macharius. Just look at how that one looks, its got the drivers compartment and all in the same place! Main difference is, mine is smaller, and has only got 1 battle cannon.

Awsome work there dude. Very distinct style both paint scheme and conversion. I think to looks far better than the Regualr russ, this one actually looks like the idea of the Russ being a scaled down Baneblade.

Cheers! When i was half way through making this, the Macharius tank came out at Forge World, and i just went "...aww, damnit! They copied me!", because this does look kind of like a scaled-down version of that, doesnt it?

Well, not really. See yours is hand made and really doesnt look like FW's and vise versa. But yours looks better becuse 1) its a Leman Russ 2) Its possibly one of the best depictions of LRMBT I have seen and 3) FW may have good looking minis and models, nothing beats a hand made tank.

Chimera is a troop transport. Technically, depending on the fluff and your view the Chimera and/or the Leman Russ body can be considered the primary workhorse(s) of the Imperial Guard as there are so many variants for both of them.
