Thanks for the tutorial! It got me working on an "alabaster camo" for my fictional soldiers serving in cities that have ancient Greek & Roman style architectures.

nice, the same applies for Tiger Stripe or any other multi layer camo.. but the only problem is.. so much detail for one picture..its not very conducive to a comic or multiple characters

nah..that looks ugly when you need to have it bend around curves. Sadly the best i can do to make sure curves are used in them is to draw out simple patterns.. not as fun to look at or effective as actual camo patterns.. but as an artist you can work with it so they blend in by fading lines and such

lawl, that snow effect was the first one I ever did. xD
In words:
-Use two different brush sizes, one should be half of the size of the previous one
-The smaller brush should be used for the background and the bigger one for the foreground, as it gives depth.
-Since you're using SAI, you could use ze blur tool around the bigger flakes for a motion blur effect.
That's all I got to say.

Ja ze blur tool. I'll just guess that the bigger circle is particularly darker than the inner circle.

whaa? Photoshop doesn't have a circle to represent your size or what?

Ahhh, yeah, the sprite gets darker and blurrier for larger brushes. (Soft ones)

Seems like I got de hang of it.. but for some reason the snowballz still look to dark even though I'm using white. for the center.

Maybe you could play/fool around the brightness settings?
