nice one!  The gun is a little too big, in my opinion. especially the Buttstock. still a nice one, since it's barely noticeable.

Well, the Taiwanese collapsible stocks do look a tad wider than the US ones. XD

o, i see then. it's pretty different. i can spot the missing delta ring (or whatever the name is) on the handguard, and it seems higher than its US counterpart. there are other diferences that i spot, too. thanks for the info dude!

All these AR-15 variants and look-alike are driving me crazy xP

I think this realistic feel everybody seems to be having comes from the rounded chin and cheeks. Most of your other drawings present a more anime-ish pointy face.

NDTwoFives In reply to Soap971 [2014-06-26 15:03:58 +0000 UTC]

I have thought of the same as well o.o think I'll be sticking with this way, for the exact same reasons you mentionned above.

Haha yes, so many AR-15 variants that it gets hard to keep track of them. DX
Plus, the RIS systems are getting so alike from one end of the world to another, which bumps up the challenge level. Q_Q

TChenArt In reply to NDTwoFives [2014-06-26 15:56:59 +0000 UTC]

it's easy to be confused with all the different AR variants, as well as with the various AK series and variants. and that's down to several reasons, one being with better technology and techniques developed since the first AR-15 prototype was unveiled, many countries not just the US has beed developing variants themselves or with the US, creating stuff like the M416 and the T-91, to name a few that come to mind.
the second reason i believe, as is the case with the T91, is to produce and license their own line of firearms, whilst using the common NATO 556 round, both for its own armed forces to use and for export, and also so that its not too dependent on other countries for supplies (with Taiwan's tricky political status)

NDTwoFives In reply to TChenArt [2014-06-28 22:03:12 +0000 UTC]

Yup, this is a tendency in many countries nowadays, I especially agree with the dependance part.

You should try drawing one of the Taiwanese spec ops guys with the ballistic masks. When you have the time, anyway.

gunzgal0r3 [2014-06-24 23:08:40 +0000 UTC]

The rifle looks like a combination of an AR-10, AR-15, and an AR-18.

Ì'm not that much of a gun expert, but I couldn't help but notice the non-standard front sight/gas block and vent holes on the reciever. Never seen this type of set-up before on an M16 type platform, other than maybe video games.

Great work as always though!

NDTwoFives In reply to SSgt-LuLZ [2014-06-24 23:57:22 +0000 UTC]

This thing is real haha, it's the service rifle for the members of the Taiwanese armed forces.

It externally looks similar to the AR-15s but uses a different operating system.

Looks like my 12 years spent learning Chinese every Saturday morning at a local school has payed off.

Yup, there is that strange inconsistency when I draw faces lol, sometimes I forget about certain features like the facial/jaw structure and end up more anime'ish~ @_@ That or I just stop paying attention to the size of certain things. Gotta love separate layers, very helpful at modifying individual elements without compromising the entire line art.

Ahh, don't wanna end up like Rob Liefeld guy haha. xDD
