Description Bio: Curio is an elusive character, migrating from Sinnoh to Kalos on her lonesome, and has since travelled throughout the region leaving many stories and rumours in her wake. Her knowledge in human speech is fluent, and has sometimes stopped in various places offering other Pokemon the chance to learn the human tongue in exchange for food as payment from their trainers. She also tends to leave Pokemon figurines made of scrap parts behind, although whether or not these are made with her own paws is a mystery.

Mention of her name simultaneously draws awe and ire in various circles. Two anonymous speakers give two conflicting accounts below:

"Yeah, she just visited this pub one day out of nowhere. In any other situation where a wild Pokemon showed up unannounced, I would've just sicced my Venusaur on them. As it turned out, though, she was a riot. She talked with all the locals, and soon after that, the atmosphere of the place became a lot brighter. At one point, they started cheering her on; I think they offered a pint of beer. A bit naughty if you ask me, but let's keep that between us. That's something the TPPA (Trainer and Pokemon Protection Act) doesn't need to know."

"She was a pain in the rear, alright. There's a reason the vineyard's locked up behind a fence, to keep little buggers like her from stealing my wares. I didn’t even know what she did, exactly, but she smashed a lot of my crops on the way and called me a ‘grumpy old fart’ before leaving, so she’s definitely not in my good books. You know, I thought Pokemon had a duty to nature, but apparently not."

Despite her talkative nature, the circumstances behind her artificial arm are a mystery, although we can assume it was less than pleasant. Although we have attempted to interview her, she fled before we had the chance to. According to other reporters, they have had similar difficulties getting her as a subject.

...And that's all done! This is probably the biggest piece I've worked on, taking 6 days to complete, but I'm pleased with the results! I've been meaning to redo her character sheet for a long time, since looking back at the old one, there were a lot of anatomical issues, so much so that it was practically useless as a character sheet to refer back to. Here, I made sure to make everything as polished and on-model as possible, even going as far as to use the Brawl model as a reference, which helped me a lot when it came to getting certain angles right, especially with the face.

Lucario are deceptively hard to draw. I'm weak to drawing plantigrade characters in general, but with Lucario, there are lots of things about their design that are really odd. I ran into issues with the pants, since it's not exactly clear on what they're supposed to be; whether or not they're supposed to be pants or an actual part of their body. Perhaps the hardest part was the face, since it's not like a normal canid skull. The skeletal structure is eerily similar to that of a human, yet they have a long canine snout that doesn't follow with their lower jaw, which really makes things confusing. It's most evident when you look at the side view, where the long nose problem is much more clearer.

Anyway, I'm pleased with how this turned out. I want to do one of Shine next, since I never gave his character sheet the treatment it deserved.

Curio is one of the main protagonists of The Curious and the Shiny. Check out the first chapter of the story below:

The Curious and the Shiny Chapter 1-1 (Revised)
The sunlit gravel burned all that walked across it, yet the Luxray dashed through. Even as his paws blistered from the bare dirt and his wounds burned with the intense heat in the air, he had to. His sensitive ear picked up the footsteps of his pursuers, chasing from behind.
He ran towards the cityscapes ahead of him, where humans awaited, along with the promise of relief from his injuries, and afterwards, a normal life. Behind, though, was them. He didn’t want to imagine what they had in store for him if they caught him.
The more he ran, the more he wheezed with exhaustion, and by the time he reached the junction where the roads from the other cities converged, he stopped to catch his breath. Cars, vehicles, trucks, all honked in cacophony. And in them, humans. He ran alongside the asphalt, shouting to anyone that might’ve listened as he ran. Surely, one person must’ve seen his condition and stopped to help, but nobody did. T

Thanks! The colouring is usually my strong suit, although I could always do better with the posing~

Yeah, she does look better.

I'm particilarly loving the portraits on the top right, specifically the last one of them.

Idk why it just look so good.

Thanks! I wanted to give it my all for this one, since there were a lot of errors in the other ones. If you look at the old character sheet (which you saw a bit of in the comparison), the difference is really noticeable.
