It was raining.She leaned up against the side of a nearby building, trying to catch her breath. The new cuts in her pelt stung with the rain, and her foreleg hurt,Β but nothing was fatal. The gray golden cat shivered as the rain soaked into her fur, washing away the dirt and dust and smell of the cages. She didn't look at the cat behind her.
She had been ambushed as she made her way through the streets. Some young cat that wanted to prove their worth to the hunters, and saw an escaping prisoner as an easy target. They had been wrong, though; she wasn't about to go back without a fight.
Eventually her heartrate slowed and she took a step forward. The empire cats were still in the city somewhere, perhaps they'd let her go with them. Even if they didn't, it was better than waiting around here. She knew one thing; she was free, and she was done fighting so some fat Massilian could get his blood money.Β Theia would no longer live in the shadow of the coliseum.
