New version of Rapunzel. Changes include two new skirts, the outer of which is hand-painted, new shoes (my future Vidia shoes, lol) and a newly-styled wig!Related content

Wig looks amazing! any chance you could share which technique you used? how many wigs are wefted in to it? is it a fall on the end? I am so intrigued!!! :-D

Thank you -^^- I just bought a long wig and sewed about 8 packs of extensions into it at the back to give it that thickness. Then I braided it and tied it closed at the end. Where the hairtie was, I clipped in a very long ponytail fall of the same color. I also sewed a few more extensions behind the fall for more length. The wig is very heavy and does not stand up well to multiple wears. I eventually went with the batting-and-extensions route for Version 3.0 for which there is a tutorial here on DevArt somewhere.

Wow! Did you create a stencil for the "embroidery" of the skirt? I'm making a Rapunzel cosplay too and am stumped at how to pull that off.

No, I free-handed it and made it up as I went along. And I'm completely hopeless when it comes to drawing things...so it's probably not as difficult as it may seem. If you want to paint it, just make sure you get good fabric paint and expect to do several layers since the purple of the skirt is tough to cover.

I am absolutely horrible bout symmetry, so yes, it was hard to make them match. I just put the skirt on my ironing board, pinned them next to each other and copied it. It's not exact =/

Wow, that's just angelic! Though I've been obsessed with Tink and Ariel for YEARS, I was truly blown away by how perfect for me Rapunzel was, ha. She couldn't have been more gorgeous. So, now I'm obsessed with her! Though, I didn't like how they changed her appearance in the end... Anyway, this pic is awesome!

wig looks a lot nicer but I would add wave to the straight pieces just to blend it in better other than that its all good!

Sometimes it happens, though if you try using steam or hot water styling at 180 degrees, the wig loos great either way!!!
