I'm not sure I have it in me to start over at another forum now. DA, for all its flaws, had proven one of the most relaxed and friendly forums that I have posted on. I know that not everybody has had the same experience here, but DA has been good to me, and, in the few instances where I've had a piece censored, I understood why they chose to censor it, and I felt like they were being fair within the system that they have set up here.

Even my most NSFW pieces are really only slightly edgier than what can be seen all over this site, and I don't really feel like my work belongs in some of the less-restrictive forums on the web, not because I think those artists are going too far or should be ashamed of their art in some way. It's just that my art lives in an area between "safe" and "unsafe". If I am not challenging people to reconsider whatever imaginary line they have in their head between "art" and "porn", I don't feel like I'm really accomplishing what I hope to accomplish with my art.

Someone once called me an "X-rated Walt Disney", and I really appreciated the compliment. On the other hand, some of my fans have urged me to go even more hardcore with my art, reasoning that it's porn already, why not just own up to that?

In the end, I have to go where my art leads me, and this feels like the right place for me at this time.

I hope that makes sense.
