Description Shadow watched closely as his partner was given the remedy he so readily helped prepare. Shadow had to admit, even sick and on his deathbed, Drake was a generous and helpful soul. Dr. Quaak had initially voiced concerns that Drake might contaminate the brew before it was finished, thus making it unsuitable as medicine, but Remedy assured him otherwise. It seemed to do Drake well as he was mixing the ingredients, seemed to make him better. And that's all Shadow ever wanted.

Shadow's thoughts crept back to Creeping Forest and Rouge. What they did, the way they collaborated, she would surely make sure that Loki never knew what happened. Shadow could never understand why Loki and Rouge broke away from him and Drake but he guessed they were where they belonged now. But still…

Even as rivals, Team DarkLight and Team DarkDrako, together, would make an unbeatable team. Two Dragons, an Illusionist, and a Sun Pokémon; for some reason the combination worked. Shadow sighed as Drake drained the last of the medicine with a smile. He would have to live with the fact that they changed and there was nothing he could do about it.

"Hey Shadow!" Drake called, snapping Shadow out of his thoughts.

Drake looked happy, the redness in his face disappeared, and he bounced over with a broad grin.

"Thanks partner!" he said, "I don't know how much longer I would've lasted if it weren't for you!"

"Anytime Drake. I'm always here for you buddy," Shadow chuckled, "That's what friends are for."

Shadow once again thought back to Rouge and the way he helped her in that fight with that Sneasel. Was she a friend? Or was she an adversary? Shadow couldn't be sure of either. They worked together just fine during the search for the glowing flowers and he'd like to think she even warmed up to him a little bit. Shadow sighed inwardly. They would just have to wait and see.

Shadow was once again snapped out from his thoughts by a voice that this time belonged to Dr. Quaak.

"Shadow my friend," Dr. Quaak said graciously, "Thanks to you and ze Rogue, ve have collected enough flowers to finish ze last batch of medicine. I have here an evolution scroll from Miss PK and Shroomsworth. It's not much but 'tis all I have to give."

Shadow was overcome with emotion and pride. "It was a pleasure to help," he choked.

Drake squealed excitedly and snatched the scroll from Quaak. "I've always wanted to see what one of these looked like!" he exclaimed unrolling the scroll and looking into it.

"Wait Drake-!" Shadow called, but not quickly enough.

A light shined from the scroll and engulfed Drake's body, who seemed frozen to the spot. Drake's body absorbed the light until he was covered in a blanket of soft light. He seemed as if a ghost because of the pale light that covered his still visible physical form, yet you could tell he was solid. Shadow looked on in amazement as Drake's form began to change dramatically. His eyes darkened to red and black, his skin darkened to a gray like that of a Zorua's fur, his tusks elongated and became wider and slightly curved, turning red at the tips. Thick, green armor covered his shoulders and chest with red spots around his stomach, his horn split into two, one appearing closer to his forehead and another moving to the back of his neck. His tail, now tipped with red, grew quickly along with the rest of his body. The light dissipated and Drake flinched, as if he had just woken up from a trance.

Drake had fully evolved to a Fraxure.

Shadow sighed. Drake was so impatient, but that was what made him so irresistible as a partner and a Pokémon. Shadow couldn't understand how Loki could live without Drake's immense optimism and happiness. Still, he was old enough to make his own decisions. Apparently, now Drake was too. Shadow looked at Drake's new form with pride.

"Whoa!" Drake yelled gleefully, "Shadow check it out! I'm a Fraxure!"

"That you are," Shadow said proudly, "Now we're going to have to get you a new Accessory. The Scarf ripped when you evolved."

Drake looked down to the battered and torn cloth that used to be his Black Scarf with embarrassment. He obviously hadn't meant to practically destroy the Scarf, but in his haste he left it on, leaving only two options for it. It could choke him or tear. Shadow was glad it tore.

"Um," Drake stalled, picking up the Scarf, "Do you think we could still trade it in?"

"Only one way to find out," Shadow said, laughing at his partner.

Drake smiled and thanked Dr. Quaak for his medicine.

"Oh it vas nuzzing," Quaak said humbly, "It is vat ve do here. But ze real zanks goes to your partner and ze Rogue. Vitout zem ve may not have had enough ingredients to finish ze last batch in time."

Drake looked confusedly to Shadow who shrugged as if he didn't know what Rogue the doctor was talking about.

"Our services are always available Dr. Quaak. You need only ask," Shadow said bowing his head, "But now we have to go get Drake a new Accessory. So if you'll excuse us, we'll be on our way."

"Of course, of course!" Dr. Quaak said with a smile.

"Then we take our leave," Shadow said turning to leave, Drake following closely behind him.

Outside the doctor's tent, Drake ran over to Leavanny's Tailoring, Shadow trailing him as he once again took in the snow-covered Tao Village. His focus was brought to the fountain in the middle of the Village where the Ice Dragon Kyurem, Sorbet as PK called it, was sitting. PK was on top of its head and a Jigglypuff and Chikorita were standing in front of it. They seemed to be having a friendly conversation which led Shadow to the conclusion that that Jigglypuff and Chikorita were the Jigglypuff and Chikorita that helped find the Kyurem in the Icy Cavern.

"Shadow!" Drake called, snapping Shadow's attention to him, "Come on!"

Shadow sighed. Sometimes Drake's impatience was extremely annoying. Shadow dismissed his thoughts of Team Pecha and their adventure and over to Drake who was waiting impatiently in front of Leavanny's Tailoring.

"About time," Drake said with a smile, "Let's go!"

And with that Drake bounced in the shop, Shadow following behind him. The inside was filled with Accessories on shelves and racks and other Pokémon. Shadow had only been here once before and remembered the items on the shelves to be a lot less varied than that. Drake ran over to Chrysanthos and held up his Scarf.

"Can I trade this in?" he asked.

Chrysanthos looked at the Scarf in question and took it from Drake's hands. Chrysanthos inspected the cloth and turned it over many times.

"It's a simple Scarf," he concluded to himself, then to Drake, "You won't be able to get anything real flashy for this."

"That's okay," Drake replied, "I just want something to wear."

"In that case," Chrysanthos said, "I can just stitch it up for you."

Drake jumped up and down, "Would you please?"

Chrysanthos chuckled and got to work. Drake left him and went to browse the shelves for other Accessories. Shadow watched his partner try on ribbons and hats and scarves.

"You've got yourself a handful of a partner don't you?" Chrysanthos remarked to Shadow.

"Yeah," Shadow replied, "But I wouldn't rather have anyone else as my partner. He's my best friend."

Chrysanthos smiled and nodded, "I know that feeling."

"Yeah," Shadow said, "Sometimes he can be a little too trusting, but I guess that's what makes him the great Pokémon that he is. No one is below second or even third chances. It's a bit of a flaw but it doesn't bother him at all. He tends to see the good in most Pokémon, even when the Pokémon in question can't see it themselves."

"A good partner then," Chrysanthos said, "And you?"

"I make sure he doesn't get into trouble," Shadow chuckled, "Where he's trusting, I'm questioning."

"That's not a bad thing," Chrysanthos nodded.

"Not at all," Shadow said, "It's not that I don't trust anyone, just that it takes me a little longer."

Chrysanthos nodded and stopped sewing. He brought the Scarf up to his eyes to inspect it and smiled, obviously pleased with his work.

"Well, it looks like it's all fixed," Chrysanthos said, "Drake!"

Drake turned as he heard his name called, a top hat in his hands, and saw Chrysanthos holding up his Scarf. Drake whooped and put the hat down. He hopped over to the counter and allowed Chrysanthos to tie his Scarf around his neck.

"There you are," Chrysanthos said pulling away from Drake, "Good as new."

"Thanks," Drake said gleefully, "Thanks a million!"

Chrysanthos chuckled. "Just make sure not to get it destroyed before too long okay?"

Drake nodded vigorously and pulled Shadow to the door.

"Y'all have a good day," Chrysanthos called as they left the Tailoring shop.

When they were outside, Drake suggested they go see Mike and Chill to see if they had another mission for them.

"Good idea," Shadow said, "Let's go."

Nope, everything looks good here. The evolution happening instantaneously was original (most people prefer to show their Pokemon training at Master Foo's dojo, but I'm sure this is allowed too). I like how you made a reference to Team Pecha's Mission 4, Page 1.
Also, since you completed Mission 2, you get an accessory voucher from it, but it's also okay to save it until later.

I grew up with instantaneous evolutions. The games have influenced me far more than anything else.
