Description So.... Um.. there's a lot of feels in this one xD How I used to feel back in school.

Buh anyways, this took me like half of today and half of yesterday ;_; the background was so frickin hard to get the lines right xD but I think I got it. There's still a few glitches in it but  I'm willing to let them slide

I think I got the blood right too xD I actually wanted the pic to be like 80% blood but... I feel that I'd end up ruining it..

Anyways, I hope you like yandere girls ^ ^

There's a saying: "A little goes a long way."
That saying often holds true with blood. If you add too much to a gorey scene, it often looks unrealistic or comical. Even in anime, this can make a scene look less serious than it is meant to be sometimes. In this case, you managed to get it quite well. If you had made it as bloody as you said, you are right, it would have changed the feeling of the piece.
I'm really not a yandere fan, to be honest. Mirai Nikki scared the crud out of me, for instance. But as far as artistic goes, this is amazing. The perspective of the tiling gave me a headache, but that's mostly because the setup of the pattern. I don't really see any actual problems with it.
I like how you had the blood flow into the cracks of the tiling, and the way it overall set into the body of the tiles. It's small details like that that shows you put a lot of effort into your work.

aaaah thankies and yeah when it comes down to horror, I can't seriously find slashers scary... if anything they're funny and not really scary or creepy at all xD so I want to focus more on the mental aspect. (like yuno for example) Crazy girls canbe scary ;_;

i don't know if that makes sense though but yeah I did work hard on this one although I wish I worked more on the texture inbetween the tiles ;-; but I think it came out well xD probably the best piece i've made so far.

michaleon In reply to Nedaru [2014-01-30 05:18:41 +0000 UTC]

It's certainly better than any of the sad excuses I call art.
But yeah... Slashers are the epitome of what I am talking about when it comes to "excess" in blood. And as for the mental aspect? More often than not, the scariest things to a human is the psychology of a situation- Having a person that seems perfectly normal turn out to be a murderer in some form. It has multiple queues in our mental points: For one, if someone can seem perfectly normal, but really be a mass murderer... who else could be? For another... "I think I'm normal... but... they turned out like that... And they thought they were normal..." The scariest situation is to stare into the beast you could become.
Art like this has always been a major point for me, being that anything that involves a psychological spin is always going to catch my eye. There's a reason I'm a psychology major, after all.

Nedaru In reply to michaleon [2014-01-31 18:19:41 +0000 UTC]

Awww what do you mean of what you call art? Art you've seen or your own art? oo: And yeah I usually only watch slashers to see people get slaughtered so I can laugh at them

I agreee, there's nothing scarier than your best friend whom you've known since childhood, turning on you out of fear o. o

I kind of like the fact that humans by nature, want to live forever. so when maybe you and your friend are faced with a choice of only 1 can survive that's when shit gets real... o .o

you're a psychology major?!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

michaleon In reply to Nedaru [2014-02-12 02:52:45 +0000 UTC]

My own art. I never see myself as having gotten good enough. And honestly, that's pretty much the only reason I ever watch slashers as well. If I am watching them with anyone, they will get creeped out about the movie... and even more when I'm criticizing the method and analyzing it to it's core.

A lot of really interesting movies and studies have gone on just that topic: the "familial/friend" bond and life-or-death situations. Some of the results, and how far some people will go to save their own hides (As well as to save others instead) is kinda interesting.
And yes, I am a psychology major.

Nedaru In reply to michaleon [2014-02-12 18:07:04 +0000 UTC]

Awwh. Well to be honest I've worked so so hard to get to the level that I'm at now, I only have 2 friends that I talk to now, 1 has a creepy obsession over me and the other has been my best friend for years.

The only horrors I can take seriously are like... Supernatural xD I'm like sheeeeet! Dat girls head just turned all the way round ~runs~ Also Saw is pretty gruesome.

Well, growing up in a rough area myself I've had countless friends who would just watch people start shit with me or they'd just run away to save themselves. -n- It does make me think what a friend would do if it meant risking their life to save their friends.

and that's cool x3 So you know all about things like this? xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

michaleon In reply to Nedaru [2014-02-21 16:09:58 +0000 UTC]

I've worked hard as well. I've been at it since I was 4. I'm 20 now... almost...
I can't even take the supernatural horrors seriously. I literally cannot find a horror that I can take seriously.

Friends go to a varying degree of devotion. The title of "friend" is one that can both be given easily without much decisive meaning, and given harshly but with much meaning. Either way, both sides have their pros and cons. And I wouldn't say I know ALL about things like this... but a fairly good deal of it.

Nedaru In reply to michaleon [2014-02-21 23:27:48 +0000 UTC]

what about... the grudge? O.O I watched that when I was little, and had nightmares for a week haha

Ooh well when I say friends I mean people who I talk to often xD People who I wouldn't mind slacking off work to quickly message back or something xDD

How would you describe a "Friend"?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

michaleon In reply to Nedaru [2014-03-03 01:39:48 +0000 UTC]

I kinda thought the grudge was boring, to be bluntly honest. The only "horrors" I really care for have nothing to do with the supernatural at all. Psychological to the core. Put even the slightest magic to it, and I don't find it scary. It's funny, because I can cry over Anime. I can get angry when my favorite characters die. I can even become depressed for an entire week if it's particularly bad (Makoto's "death" in Kanon had me balled up in tears), but I never get scared, even if it's only slightly unbelievable.

I don't really watch much horrors, though, so I wouldn't be able to cite it. I just don't care for them, because they hold no appeal to me.

I would describe a friend, simply put, as someone you feel close to. No more, no less. The description of a friend doesn't need any more than that. You don't even have to actually BE close to them. It's how you feel about it that really matters. If you do a lot with someone, but don't feel close to them, are they really a friend? If you fight with someone all the time, but understand them to no end, could you really think of them as your enemy?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nedaru In reply to michaleon [2014-03-03 16:47:42 +0000 UTC]

yeah but how old was you when you first saw the grudge? Cuz I was like seriously 6 years old or something, but then again i always got confused between the grudge and the ring... the girl in both of them looks the same o.0 (apart from the rings girl looks really ugly) but yee.

I love psychological too but I'm very superstitious xD so I believe in some form of life after death anyways. But slashers don't really hold no effect on me. I saw Kanon like aaaaaaaaaages ago so I forgot who Makoto is but anything made by Key is enough to make you cry xD

I usually watch a horror if it looks good. Have you seen Battle Royale? That's very psychological. The second one is even worse but turns into an action film towards the end which I didn't really like.

Ohhh.. well for me, I have trust issues, so a friend for me is someone who I'd trust

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

michaleon In reply to Nedaru [2014-03-14 02:41:13 +0000 UTC]

I don't quite remember when I saw the grudge. And I have the same problem of getting the two mixed up.

Makoto was the redhead who ended up being a fox that the main character had taken care of years ago, and sacrificed part of her life in order to become human and get closer to him. And yeah, I actually own both Kannon and Air, and want to eventually own Angel Beats and Clannad. Key is such an amazing company.

I never watched Battle Royale, but I intend to. Isn't that the one that reputedly Hunger Games is pretty much ripped right off from?

Trust is a part of being close to someone. You have to trust someone to be close to them, so in the end, we kinda have very similar perspectives when it comes to that.

Nedaru In reply to michaleon [2014-03-14 08:19:40 +0000 UTC]

Ahaha aw

oomg yes makoto. she was too adorable x3. And when they left her to eat that toast or whatever it was I was like "noooo;-;"

Do you know if Key are making another anime? o: I do really like their style, it's so cute and there's always tears at the end

Um yes lol, it's amazing. The first half of the second one is really good too but then it just gets weird xD

I think trust is just being able to depend on someone, I've never really had that because all my friends would have left me in a ditch if they had the chance -_-

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

michaleon In reply to Nedaru [2014-03-14 17:50:10 +0000 UTC]

Makoto was one of my favorite characters. I don't know if they intend on making another one, but there you have it. I hope they do. I'd kinda like that.

It was the jam. The only thing better than that jam would be to eat it on some of Sanae's bread. It must be done.

Oftentimes, having a good friendship revolves around finding the right people and giving it time to sprout. Those are two very important parts of a friendship that people just sorta take for granted.

michaleon In reply to Nedaru [2014-03-14 19:41:00 +0000 UTC]

Just seeing how you said that tells me exactly why your having trouble.
You pluralized "friend".
Before you look for a group of friends, you need to find ONE solid friend. Even if that friend is online, they have to be someone you feel comfortable talking to and can do things with. Where a lot of people go wrong is they try to go quantity over quality, and then feel upset that the friends they have are worth nothing. You need to find one good friend, and the rest will open it's way for you from there.

ooh i have a friend i met online We text like every day and I feel as if I could tell her anything, but I can't rely rely on someone who I can't physically see can I ? D:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

michaleon In reply to Nedaru [2014-03-14 20:49:25 +0000 UTC]

That is a misnomer. Just because you cannot physically come into contact with that individual, does not mean you cannot rely on them. In fact, the ability to tell the individual anything means you rely on them much more than you think. Being able to talk about your problems is a very important part of life, and having someone you can talk about your problems with is very likely the strongest form of reliance in existence, and one of the most important necessities most people look for when looking for companionship of any kind.

Nedaru In reply to michaleon [2014-03-14 22:41:20 +0000 UTC]

If you look at it like that, it sounds right.

But what happens if for some reason you go bankrupt or lose all your money? You'll have no internet and possibly no credit on your phone. Then that friend is gone ;-;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

michaleon In reply to Nedaru [2014-03-14 22:52:23 +0000 UTC]

Another important thing about friends is knowing that sometimes, for a while, you have to say goodbye and hope to see again. An online friend is perfectly good for many reasons. They are sometimes easier to get in touch with than a real life friend. But if something happens, it's true that you can lose contact with them fairly easily. In some cases, that's something you have to live with: What happens if your real life friend moves away, or something happens to them? The same issues arise. Unfortunately, that's a fact of life. What is important is to worry about that when the time comes, not at the moment. Friends are there to help you in the moment. If you always worry about what is going to happen, then you lose all the experiences you can possibly share with them at the time.
Losing contact isn't permanent. There is always ways of getting in contact with a friend when you lose contact with them. Perhaps it's through letters? Either way, eventually you will be able to contact your friend again. Don't worry about the "what if's" when you still haven't completely sorted out and experienced the "now".

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nedaru In reply to michaleon [2014-03-17 23:49:43 +0000 UTC]

ooooh o: but there's still the trust issue, aside from my internet friend, I've never had someone that I can completely trust, i just know that they'd end up letting me down.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

michaleon In reply to Nedaru [2014-03-20 17:21:06 +0000 UTC]

And that's something you'd have to sort out. You won't be able to live a fully satisfied social life until you can come to terms with your trust issue. It kinda sucks, but it's true. I had the same problem for most of my life, and still do. I can't trust people adequately, and am almost always afraid that they will betray me. But the more I have been getting better about that and about my general anxiety about life as a whole, the more I've been finding I'm happier about things in general.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nedaru In reply to michaleon [2014-03-23 01:36:18 +0000 UTC]

I'm satisfied with my social life at the moment to be honest, I don't hang around with back stabbers or people who'll let me down, I'd rather stay inside and game or draw than go out and spend money that I don't have

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

michaleon In reply to Nedaru [2014-03-25 02:31:21 +0000 UTC]

If you feel satisfied with your life as it is, then you have solved the initial problem. I'm not saying you need a million friends, or necessarily that you need to find any. From what you were saying, it seemed you were unsatisfied, so I was giving suggestions that might help. If you feel satisfied, though, then simply disregard that advice. Or better, keep it in mind, and give it to someone you meet that might be dissatisfied with their social life. Perhaps that advice might come in handy one day. You never know.
