My response to this meme, and it was very therapeutic
Pokemon has been in my head since 4th grade and I was looking forward to this, but so many things a wrong with it. When I saw the Pokedex I felt so frustrated with the character designers. Worst of all, Pokemon is really the only thing that is keeping me connected to my childhood. D: Sad day, I really wanted to go to the pokemon center in japan to get plush...
Mijumaru- Slowly been growing on me. Would be better if the head was blue like its second evolution. I wish the 3rd evolution was epic like the 2nd one, instead we have a crazy-mustached sea lion thingy that reminds me too much of swampert. How hard is it to make an epic otter people?!
Pokabu-It's bacon! Too many fire/fighting starters! I only like the first evolution of this line.
Tsutarja- I love the final evolution of this one the most so I would pick this one. It's filing it's nails while it has them. That would stink to loose your arms as you grew...
The gamme itself looks AWESOME, so why did they screw up so bad on most of the pokemon. GARBAGE!!! I mean who wants to catch a trash bag?
There are several pokemon I like, because they still follow the pokemon design rules: simple and vivid colors
When I saw this I'm like"that thing has rabies, it's freakin me out!"
Victini... has wings on it's butt, it is not in the same league of cuteness as previous legendaries.
This one...ugh... there are sooooooo many pokemon that look like parasites, why game freak? WHYYYYYY??????
This ant... why???? Too many of these pokemon look too much alike to their real counter parts. Where'd the creativity go cheaters?
I detest most of the pokemon, they don't follow good pokemon design...
I made a polar bear pokemon a few years back... I was disappointed, a string of snot REALLY?! Bleh!!!!

Too many in-between-evolutions... seriously I have never seen so many unnecessary evolutions to fill in the pokedex... Why didn't they go to deviantart ant have a contest for pokemon designs? So many people have designed fakemon that look more legit than most of these...
I might get it, might not, depends what I'm doing in the spring

yep, i agrees with you on a lot of that stuff. here's what nintendo needs to do: take the original 150 and make a live action fighting game. each pokemon would have a pretty unique attack set then you could have an awesome adventrue (kinda like mystery dungeon) except more awesome. they could do soooo much if they took pokemon that route, of course they'd have to transfer to the Wii or the next gen console and they'd probably loose a lot of handheld fans. but oh well, it'd be an awesome game that i would buy. Nintendo just needs to realize that if they keep rehashing a great game too many times then it hinders where gaming can go.

Amen to that, sista! The Pokemon designs are, well, crap! I hate over half of them, which is a good argument for NOT getting the game, but there are a few that I'd LOVE to train and battle with! UGh... I think I'll be getting Black >_>;

The Pokemon? Yeah, they are, but I'm kinda picking the version by the legendary you get at the lower lvl. Besides, wifi is an awesome invention for trading

To answer your last question, NONE! Previous pokemon will not be available in game or listed in the pokedex until the national dex is unlocked (which, is probably shortly after defeating the elite 4, as per usual).
They wanted to get as fresh of a feeling of "new" as they could muster for this new generation, and they where even willing to sacrifice the game mascot to do so. :s It's a bold move, and I hope it pans out.

I personally think it will be fine in Japan, but it will die here. New fans (ie kids) aren't going to like most of these. The only ones that will really catch on would be the chinchilla and flying squirrel. Maybe the kids will appreciate the starters more than me, I don't know

I feel about the same to this generation as I did to 4. I thought initially I was going to skip it, simply because I didn't have a DS, but really, I wasn't crazy about the starters and all that jazz either.
It would be ironic if the US markets didn't buy into it, since the basis for the region is supposed to be new york.
