I always wondered where the name Akefia even came from. As far as I know it's completely fanon, but I have no idea who came up with it, how they came up with it, or why it caught on so much. Personally I kind of hate it.
The drawing's concept is interesting, but something about the expressions looks off somehow. I'm not really sure why.

It is entirely fanmade. I think it came from people mishearing his name or something. I only use it to differentiate among Bakuras!

That is true. Kul Elna, the entire village save Bakura, was killed to create the Millennium items.
If you ask me, Bakura's more sympathetic than any other character....

Ever watch Yugioh?
This is the main villain and his past incarnate. In ancient Egypt, his entire village was massacred, burned to death to create magical items for the pharaoh. Little Bakura was the only survivor. And so he dedicated his life to revenge and ended up sacrificing himself to create another being(who holds all of his memories) that would one day take revenge for him on the future incarnations of the pharaoh and his followers.
Skip forward thousands of years to modern day Japan where the cycle has been set in motion. Reincarnations of all of the Egyptians are living and Bakura's reincarnation, Ryou, gets ahold of the item that holds the spirit his past self sacrificed himself to create. The Spirit can now take over Ryou's body and his hair goes all crazy.
This pic is basically the Spirit reliving the day Bakura's family was killed from his memories, remembering that the reason he exists. To get revenge for Bakura.

Yeah never really watch Yugioh as a child I only ever watch Smackdown and Doctor Who in 03. but that's a pretty sad plot there.

Yeah, it's pretty sad. It's weird that some people consider it a kid's show despite some really messed up storyline. Like Marik, who hasΒ a psychotic other personality that murdered his father in a, err, particularly gruesome manner.
