It's pretty I like it! You probably don't want me to say this though... but they do remind me of Sasuke & Sakura from the Naruto anime... only older & a bit more attractive

I love how the ethereal atmosphere of the background and the plant life in the foreground make your characters, with their deep and vibrant colours, really stand out. My eye was automatically drawn to them.
As well, even though the rest of the image is so bright, both of your characters seem so sad. They appear unaffected by the world in which they exist and, even though they are not facing, they appear to only acknowledge each other. It kinda seems like a scene set for a final goodbye.

You've created a really nice atmosphere. I like how the plants also look kind of like flames, and the moon adds an interesting touch - surprisingly cool against the warm colours.

Here's a quick idea on improving this, if you don't mind.
I notice a lot of dead space on each side of this picture. Have you thought about composing your picture in a portrait composition instead of landscape?

Recomposing it is probably the easiest solution to fixing it, in my opinion. But, what you've done is honorable for workng with a mouse. It's been a long time since I've used one and hope it stays that way : )
