The colors give it a great additional level of depth; very interesting!
As for the quality, might be related to how dA is creating extra-images. Check this for more details: www.deviantart.com/comments/1/β¦
(Note that this was before dA moved images to Wix, so this might have changed by now)
In order to not get any unpleasant surprises, you might want to work with some common color profile (sRGB or even Adobe RGB) because a number of programs ignore embedded color profiles. Also, do "View > Proof Colors"; for example, PS tends to display colors slightly more muted on my computer, might be similar in your case. Let me know if this helps!

Good work, I'm liking the subtle texture that is present in some areas of the artwork - it is a bit different from your usual nebulae which are always quite smooth. Personally I could have lived with fewer stars but oh well.

Yes, I dabbled a bit out of my comfort zone. I was never really good with integrating texture so most of my works look plain. Yes, you are right about the stars, I merged all the layers halfway through working on this and couldn't go back to edit them out.Β
