Actually Black is the first to have officially a legendary in his team for the need of Scenario!! The game force you to capture the dragon. Nothing force you to capture Groudon or Kyogre in Ruby/Sapphir. Obviously all people capture them, but the game don't force you to do it!!

If you read any of the mangas you'll see he's the complete opposite of what you depict him to be. Black... I've read the comic until the DPPt series. I've even bought them in japanese. I know the subject.
What you are saying is interesting, I hadn't thought of N being a replacement of Red. It doesn't make sense though, because N is a rival, not the hero.

really cool I just Read FRLG and Red Acts completely different I just wanted it to be re-read
it doesnt take long
but N fangirls keep telling me that he is replacing Red because of his hat which makes no sense because they are then saying if I put on a hat I would replace Red(which makes no sense) so it just struck a nerve to make fun of read sense in FRLG he acts in extremely heroic and nearly dies for Silver Green Blue Yellow etc.,
also I have heard of Red sense kindergarten so he kinda stuck as favorite so its like someone making fun of your favorite character
