I like it, but...
I was a ballerina for seven years and just can't cope with people's idea that ballet is all pink and frilly.
It's not.
it's a more sinister world than you could ever imagine.
So black should also be included
Think of Black Swan.

Yeah, it would make a perfect coord for gothic lolita

I wish this would become a Lolita subculture, it's too cute not to be one. The sleeves remind me of Sailor Saturn's ^^

Who knows, maybe it'll become a subculture. I can definitely see that happening.

I like it. So what if it doesn't follow all the conventional rules of lolita? Punk lolita and ero-lolita don't, either. Here's hoping that ballet lolita becomes an officially recognized style one day!

De.Nied.
Punk and Ero lolita designs folow even stricter guidelines to be classified as lolita than do regular lolita designs. A\And seriously, if a TRUE lolita lifestyler (as t was meant to be) saw this, they're probably write a bigger rant than I did about how it's not lolita.
It's like I explained to the author several times over, the guidelines and specifications of what is and isn't TRUE lolita has changed very little over the years and is extremely EXTREMELY strict as to classifications and what-have-you.

The lines are getting fuzzier with every new style that's introduced. There are many articles of clothing that call themselves "lolita" despite being too revealing, or too low-quality. With that in mind, I do believe Ballt Lolita will succeed in being recognized as a style one ay.

One day maybe. However, it being recognized in the official Japanese lolita community, not likely unless he/she changes the style signifficantly. But I do agree that it is a nice style :3

Yes, it is. But why can't it be an official style? That's what I want to know.

With the current state of appearance it doesn't comply with the vast majority of the lolita standards. Howeve, just because it doesn't comply NOW doesn't mean that it coulkdn't become a recognised style later with a few tweaks to the appearance

Exactly. Did I mention there are a lot of non-lolita dresses that claim to be lolita? It bugs me a lot more than it probably should.

Don't those people know how insulting it is to people who put thought, time, and effort into making REAL Lolita clothing?

Apparently not. Then again, I've noticed that those dresses that claim lolita that do not follow the traditional japanese lolita standards often come from americanized countries (spain, austrailia, the americas, etc). Very rarely will you actually find someone from those countries that will go through the pains of research to get a true lolita outfit together. it's sad, but that's how it is.

The bright side: at least in some stores, the clothes they DON'T label as being Lolita-style could actually pass for Ero-Loli or Punk-Loli. Talk about not doing the research.

I guess you have a point there. Doing the research isn't that hard, and it saves some serious face.

*nods enthusiastically* Exactly XD it really doesn't take much to go "hey, I don't know anything on this subject..." and then go to a computer and look up anything you can find and check sources.. or go to the library... it all comes down to whether or not you're willing to admit you know nothing to begin with.

i just realised i forgot to add something. generally when a lolita design is made with a sweethear neckline, it has a victorian-like, high collared blouse beneath it. i would suggest adding it toe.
maybe try a slightly shorter than standard length white jumper skirt with a sweetheart neckline and a light pink high-collared blouse with slightly poufy (princess) sleves and ruffles down the front. That way you can keep the ballet-like skirt shown here as a slightly longer underskirt beneath the jumper but above the traditional petticoat and bloomers.

If I could turn back time I would draw the top in another way, maybe with baloon shoulder (is it the right word? o.o)

princess sleeves would be the correct term, and i'd suggest a sweetheart neckline too paired with a fuller skirt with a bell shape as traditional with japanese lolita. i would also make the headban acessory a bit smaller as it's a big larger than traditional headband pieces. I also suggest using the second style of shoes the person below me suggested.

But I can give up, because Lolita's community would never accept a new subculture. xD So I better don't spend my time on this stuff

i don't think you should give up. You're ballet lolita seems to have a fighting chance with a little redesign. However, I do think you need to do more extensive research into the lolita subculture and the defining elements of it. don't use american sights, don't take information from sites promoting americanized lolita. There may be good information on some of them, but the japanese sites are better. Study companies like baby the stars shine bright and the others and take an in depth look at the common elements throughout both the company, and the similar elements throught the comapnies. check out the lolita bibles and amagzines. Fruits often has some great examples of lolita.
keep trying.

Thank you, I hope you're right...
II trusted an Italian site, the best lolita's site that I ever seen, it explains all Lolita true subcultures that I have listed in the collection. It doesn't talk about cosplay or americanized Lolita >.< if you want I can send you the link, but it is all in Italian.. xD you can use google translator but it doesn't translate in the right way and in the correct meaning \:
Anyway, my favourite Lolita brand is Angelic Pretty <3 I love its design, so sweet ** also Mary Magdalene *_*

juliette et justine... i think is the name of it. an amazing site, they have some of the more original designs while sitll sticking to the primary structure of lolita. some of their stuff is a beautiful mix of hime and classic, with sweet and country lolita thrown in every now and then.
